"We sincerely appreciate the compliment on our exterior painting and take great pride in all of the work that we do. As the newer office manager, I am disappointed that we did not know about this review sooner to be able to do all that we could do to rectify the situation with the home owner. Although I am sure that the plants have since shed any dead leaves and have grown back, we do acknowledge that this can happen when cleaning a roof and we apologize for the nuisance that it caused. We use a two-man team for all roof cleaning jobs and have one dedicated team member to rinsing plants/grass before, during, and after the roof cleaning is completed. We use tarps and canvases to cover foliage, especially where there are no gutters to catch and safely redirect the cleaning solution runoff. Our roof cleaners work hard to prevent negative side-effects on plants when cleaning a roof but there is always the slight chance that it could happen. The effect on plants or grass is generally short lived and returns to normal after a few weeks. This is the only proper method to clean a roof (and is the manufacturer recommended method to clean shingles and tiles) and we do get amazing results. We try to be upfront about the possibility of a slight negative effect as we are realistic about the process. After cleaning roofs for the last 25 years, we rarely get complaints about plants or grass but when we do, we always try to not only respond to the customer concern, we also aim to use the feedback to improve our process if possible."
The roof looked good. Had problems with which crew that worked for the owner was supposed to do what part of the work. The estimate told exactly what was to be done. The contract stated that the lawn next to the stucco was to be trenched to be able to clean, prime and paint below ground level. The two crews (cleaners and painters) each said the other was to do the trenching. The house ended up being painted without trenching. the grass against the sides of the house was not even trimmed. They painted the standing grass. It all stuck to the house and the old paint color showed when the grass was pulled out. The owner was contacted by phone. He stated he would come out and check the work and the problems. He instead sent one of the crew. The work was done, but not without complaints from the worker. The owner of the company came a day later to check out the work. The part that was done after the rest does not look as good. This part of the house was not cleaned, power washed, or primed. Finish color paint was sprayed onto the dirty stucco. Don't know how long that will hold up. Not a pleasant experience at all. The outside central air unit was covered with a tarp to keep paint off. I was not aware this was done. The air conditioning was running all this time and finally overheated and quit working. What a disaster.
"We just realized that there was an option to respond to these reviews on Angie's list so we would like to provide an explanation about the trenching in question and other things mentioned. We do trench along the perimeter of the house - where we can. If there is mulch or dirt, we are able to trench. Where there is grass that meets the exterior walls, we do not trench because we do not want to rip up or ruin the grass. We explain to each homeowner that the grass and shrubs should be trimmed back as much as possible prior to our painting crew arriving since we don't readily have lawn equipment to do this. Regarding the outside air unit, our crew does cover this unit while we are painting that area of the wall as to not get paint inside of the unit. It is not covered for very long and if the home owner is home, we notify them if it is going to be covered for a significant amount of time. We take comments and concerns from customers very seriously so when we do get feedback that a customer is less than pleased, we respond immediately. We offer a seven year material and labor guarantee on all exterior home painting so in the rare chance that something is amiss with the paint job after the fact, all you have to do is give us a call or stop by our office and we will follow up. We have been in business for 25 years and have had the same phone number (352) 666-7615 and office location 12452 Spring Hill Drive. for nearly 20 of those 25 years so we are not difficult to find or get a hold of. Not many other companies, especially painting companies, can say the same. In fact, we periodically get calls from homeowners calling us to fix the paint job they received from another company that likely went out of business. I am hopeful that if something comes up in the future that this homeowner will give us an opportunity to address the concern. We really take great pride in the quality of work that we do and the customer service we provide."
Bottom line: a waste of time
"We just realized that there was an option to respond to these reviews on Angie's list so we would like to follow up just to provide an explanation. As the newer office manager, I did not realize we had significant reviews here too and feel that it is important to respond. I went back through our old email through Bellsouth and found that there was a scanned painting estimate to this homeowner in our sent mailbox on 3/12/2013 at 5:40 pm. It was sent to davecrawford at gmail.com from hernandocoatings at bellsouth.net (we still have this email address but over the last year we have been largely using hernandocoatings at gmail.com because of ease of use). Perhaps we took the email address down incorrectly or perhaps it went to the home owners spam box and he did not find it? If I had the option to attach a screen shot here of our sent email message to the homeowner, the date and time stamp would be visible. Although I'm sure this homeowner has taken care of his home painting needs by now, I'm disappointed we did not have an chance to make him a happy customer. Our aim is to be as communicative as possible from the initial call for an estimate to the job being completed. Sometimes things happen and I am unsure of what went wrong here but my hope is that the homeowner was able to get the services he wanted and perhaps in the future we might be able to make him a happy customer of ours."
"We were unaware there was an option to respond to the reviews here so we would just like to provide some relevant info regarding the review. We have been in business for 25 years and we have two lead painters on our staff that have been with us for 20 years, and the other crew member for 15 years. Many of our other painters have been painting with us for over 5 years. All in all, we have the most experienced painting crew in Hernando County. The owner of our company is very hands on. He does all of the estimates and color selection appointments so that is what most of his time is dedicated to. On the rare occasion that a homeowner express concern during or after the project, the owner makes it a priority to respond in person as quickly as possible to the homeowner's property. Unfortunately, the owner is not able to follow up and inspect every completed project because from week to week, there could be 15-20 different homeowners to visit between roof cleaning and interior and exterior painting jobs. That is why we have lead crew members who have significant experience and in the past few years, we have actually acquired a full time field supervisor who is on the job site for most painting projects. We are happy that this customer was pleased with the outcome of their project. We would gladly welcome repeat business and will always strive for 100% customer satisfaction."
