Everyone in our home had been suffering from respiratory issues for the last 6 months that we lived at 7114 Wilcox Dr in Hudson, FL. We were refused mold remediation services by John Timmerman. My youngest son. 3 years old, has suffered permanent skin damage due to black mold seeping through the wall in his bedroom. We are lucky it didn't kill him. Then once we had moved out and spend 3 days cleaning the home and property (pics and videos to prove it) we were told they would be keeping our $750.00 deposit due to the "damage we had caused according to John Timmeran, the owner of Gulfside Slumlording". We had asked for a review of the property to see if they desired anything to be fixed or addressed that may affect our deposit for 3 weeks before we moved out. We were told "the damage has been noted by the owner and will not affect our deposit." I'm so glad that we spend 3 days of our time cleaning up the home and property after we had moved out. We still could not get anyone to come out and advise us what they thought was wrong with the property. John Timmerman is a complete Slum Lord. I would advise you to Run don't walk away from any dealings with him or his company. When we tried to discuss these issues with the Slum Lord, we were told to take him to court if we don't like it. He wouldn't be proactive in allowing us to address anything because he was planning on keeping our deposit all along. The property was left in spotless condition (aside from the black mold growing inside the walls and under the floors). I'm sure he will just lease the property to some other unsuspecting family. I feel so sorry for them and their children. Since we have moved, everyone's respiratory issues have cleared up. Imagine that? This Slum Lord, thinks my 3 children should live in a home with Black Mold. We asked for proper measures to be taken for mold remediation and we were met with a statement of " your lease is up and we will not renew, get out by end of lease". This water damage was caused by faulty construction. They talk a good game, but are complete liars. Lets take into account that this man lives in a waterfront 1/2 Million Dollar home in Spring Hill, FL. Yet he feels the need to keep a $750.00 deposit from a family of 5 who are struggling to eat. I hope Karma has it's way with this guy, eventually I know somehow it will. I will try to take him to court. But, I'm not sure it's worth it. And that's what he's banking on I'm sure. Sincerely, Ryan H. Freymuller
