We purchased a Groupon coupon for $79 and were to receive $200 worth of landscaping services/plants for it. This included having someone come out and plan what would be best for this particular area. Santiago arrived on time, and made suggestions as to what he thought would be best and we chose which we wanted. Within a few days the men came to do the job. Within a short while, one left while the other continued to work. There was a palm tree stump that was left by FPL about a year ago that Blooms worked around. I was asked how I wanted the couple of plants placed since the stump was there, which I placed the potted plants in the spot I preferred. I checked the work in progress a couple of times, and all seemed to be going well. The second gentleman returned and helped finish the job. I did not see them finishing up with spreading the soil or mulch, and they were gone before I knew it. I noticed after they left that one of the end Palm tress was not placed low enough and they tried to compensate by piling the dirt up under it, along with the mulch. This was very noticeable and we knew this would end up being a problem once it rained, besides that it didn't look right. I immediately called Santiago and he asked me to take a couple of pictures so that when we come in to get the exchange for the 2 returned Desert Rose plants, we can show it to him, which I did. When we got to the nursery and I showed him the pictures, he said that this work was not acceptable, that they do not do work like that and that he would take care of it for us. He also acknowledged that with the rain, obviously the mulch and soil would wash away. He said they would come back out and fix it. That the hole needs to be deeper and the tree placed in it. That was approx. 3 weeks ago. Within a few days, grass and weeds started popping up like crazy. I called Santiago immediately when we saw this was evident that they did not dig out enough grass/weeds and did not dig down deep enough, as it appeared way too fast. Every time I ask Santiago about it, he tells me they don't have the time for it, that they are busy. He also said they will do it when they have work in the area. We do not live far from the nursery, therefore they are always within the area. He has each time I've talked to him, told me how we can fix it. My husband did remove some of the dirt and mulch from under the tree where it was piled up, but it still needs more removed as it is washing out. Santiago keeps telling me we should remove some dirt and mulch (which I told we have done some but it needs more, it needs to be done right), and as for the grass and weeds, he said numerous times that we should either add more mulch or remove the mulch and put down weed block and replace the mulch. We feel we paid for a service and they should come back and do it right. I have already spent over 2 hours trying to remove (pulling out) the grass and weeds and have barely gotten half way done with it. We could have spent a lot less just buying the plants/trees an doing it ourselves to begin with. Santiago does not like to make good when they'e done wrong. I feel we were taken for and that any business that wants a good review should earn it. I warned Santiago unless he fixed this, that we would be giving a bad review. At first he thought that was not fair, then he said he didn't care. We were at the Nursery on Tuesday, 2 days ago, and when I inquired as to if he knew when they could come out yet, it was the same answers, either wait for them when they are in the neighborhood or do it ourselves. They are far too busy getting new accounts and do not want to make good where mistakes were made and where it would take away time they need to make more money. We've gotten the impression that with Santiago his mind set is quantity over quality. I should mention that we also had Blooms Nursery do some landscaping at my mother-in-laws house the same day, immediately after ours and that it came out very nice, and have not have had any issues with it.
