The only positive I can say is that someone came in a timely fashion and he happened to be kind and courteous. Unfortunately, they charged me almost $400 to not find a leak. The guy left us with a guess of where maybe a leak might be and, after a plumber tore open an entire wall etc, we discovered he was wrong. I immediately reached out to the company and got no response. I have emailed them twice now and still no response. Interestingly, their number is different from the number corporate has for their store as well. I should be refunded 100% based on the fact that they failed to provide me with any actual service to be paid for. Most expensive guess ever!

Heard water running in pipes inside the wall; knew we had a leak but didn't know where. Called American Leak Detection on Saturday night and left a message; got a call back before 9AM on Monday. Thanks to a cancellation, they had their guys here in 20 minutes. The found the leak within 15 minutes. I was lucky enough to get the plumber out the same day. The leak was under the slab so they had to jackhammer out a piece of the floor but the job was done the same day. The leak was within a few inches of where ADL marked it! Very accurate, clean, professional, friendly service and saved me days of stress. They charge a flat fee so there is no guess work. Very thankful to them and will absolutely use again if necessary (I hope not).

Our technician, David, arrived within a couple of hours of our call. He was very conscientious in searching for the leak. He spent around 1 1/2 hours searching, making sure he got the correct spot. He used several instruments and methods in his search. When he was sure he found the spot, he assured us that the leak was within a foot of the spot he marked. He said when the plumber came and if he couldn't find the leak within arm's reach, to call him back, and for no additional cost, he would return to try to better pinpoint the spot.
After the plumber came back to make the repair, he found the broken pipe not more than six inches from the mark. This resulted in minimal damage to the floor, allowing for an easy and inexpensive repair.
We're grateful that David cared to do his job so well.

After claiming it was fixed, the pool continued to leak. When I called them back, they said we would need to replace the skimmer for $900. I called the gentleman who installed the pool, and he fixed the problem for $75.
Response from American Leak Detection
"We believe the member simply had someone apply epoxy to the broken skimmer and the skimmer will leak again soon. This is a temporary fix - not the robust, permanent repair we recommended. Broken plastic is not "fixed" by using any kind of sealant. We regret [member name removed] did not give us a chance to explain. As always, we aim to do the job right the first time and believe that replacing the skimmer would be the correct solution."

We had been cleaning up water on the garage floor for over a week. At first we thought it was from the A/C unit but when checked by service man found it was in plumbing. Called a plumber but he could not find and did not want to jack hammer the whole garage floor. We called American Leak and within 24 hours they had Chad out here. It took a short time for him to turn off water, blow air in the pipes and listen and identify the area of the leak within minutes. He was very professionial, on time and even called to see if we had any trouble getting the leak fixed. Strangely since he was here it has not leaked so no need for plumber as yet. It seems that when he turned off water and turned it back on the rush of water probably disturbed sediment in the pipes and something plugged the pinhole leak at that time. We know it may break loose again but thanks to American Leak and Chad we will be able to identify the site of the pinhole for repair.

The pool was loosing enough water to require 1 to 3 inches of additional water every couple of days. American Leak Detection found a leak and applied a very indiscrete epoxy patch for $345. When asked, the technician told me that they made no guarantees about how long the patch would hold or whether there may be other leaks. He said that if it continued to leak he would come back for an additional charge. It did continue to leak so I called another company who does guarantee there work and charges less.
Response from American Leak Detection
"American Leak Detection of Daytona Beach prides itself on the quality of its work as well as its excellent customer service, so when we hear of a complaint, we take it very seriously. We are truly sorry to hear of your disappointment. Our technician performed a leak detection, determining no leaks existed in the pool piping. Further investigation showed a leak in spa drains and a crack in the spa seat. After using a 2-part epoxy to repair the drain and stop the immediate water loss, it was communicated to the member this was being used as a temporary fix until an appointment and a proposal could be made for a more robust repair. Shortly after the initial detection was completed, ALD’s owner visited the property, with the member’s full knowledge of him being on the property for the sole purpose of inspecting the spa seat himself so that the proper repair recommendation could be delivered to homeowner. Two business days later, the repair proposal was emailed to the member. Our technician never stated that “we made no guarantees.” In fact, all of our work is accompanied by a 60-day guarantee. However, he did correctly inform the member that the temporary epoxy repair was just that: a temporary epoxy repair. This member was informed of our cost, guarantee and the need for a major repair while our technician was on the property. They paid the invoice in a timely manner and never voiced their supposed dissatisfaction."

The in-ground pool was experiencing a continual loss of water. When I called American Leak Detectors, they advised how I could perform a and quot;bucketand quot; test to confirm the leak was real and not evaporation. After confirming it was real, they agreed to come out for a full pool examination, during which they would repair any 'minor leaksand quot; for $310. During this visit, they found a 1/8and quot; x 9and quot; crack that they sealed with an epoxy. Nothing else was found during their examination of the pool. Subsequently, we determined that the pool was still leaking. When I called American Leak Detectors, they asked me to perform the bucket test again. When that confirmed that the pool was still leaking, they were very professional and agreed to come back out and re-check the pool again under warranty. On the recheck, the serviceman checked the pool entirely, twice, and through his diligence and refusal to give up, finally found an underground water line that would not hold pressure. Since this was not a and quot;minorand quot; leak, ALD provided a written quote to cut through the pool deck, find the leak and fix it, and then fill in and concrete over for $650. For an additional $75, they would make their best attempt to match the texture (not the color) of the current pool deck. I agreed to have them do the repair, and match the texture, for $750. The serviceman that came out to do the job was very professional, and efficiently cut through the concrete, unearthed the underground water line and found that one of the plastic joints had not been cemented into place. So, it was likely leaking since the pool was built. He applied the PVC cement, and confirmed that the line would hold pressure for an expended period of time without dropping. Then he filled in the hole, and cemented the top. He matched the pool deck texture very closely. The color is off, but we knew that they did not have the tools to match color. After we repaint the deck, this repair will be practically invisible.
The leak was very difficult to find, but ALD stuck to it until they found it. I would not hesitate to call them again.
