I interviewed 8 HVAC contractors and decided on Ervin. In my opinion, he is highly focused and dedicated to doing the job right. I needed an entire new system including duct work. It was not included in quote, but he also included the high quality hvac exit grilles along with the boxes that the grill attaches to, and a thermostat at no extra cost. Because of a hyper-allergenic situation, he also accommodated a highly specific request to apply a specific HVAC amicrobial paint onto fiberglass areas within the system. It was impressive that he was even familiar with this aplication, as most other I interviewed hadn’t a clue. He also absolutely insisted that I move the return (where the air flows back in) off of a lower wall near floor, and relocated in a central hall ceiling. No other hvac quote insisted on this as they just wanted to go with the flow and take the easy path vs. doing it right -- and in retrospect I’m glad he insisted upon moving it. He also customized my system to accommodate a 5 inch filter. He also provided this filter at no extra cost. Personally, I’m a stickler for detail, and the more other contractors complimented the hvac system and the more I looked at, the more I appreciate the fine job. It wasn’t all perfect as there was a communication problem which, in retrospect, was mostly my fault. Also, he insisted on a Lenox variable speed system which is a great system that I am very happy with. Price was excellent.

Two people came out. It took 6 hours. Everything was fine. Left area very clean.

He was more wanting to describe how the units worked more than working on them. He knows it all about everything and he is the only one that is correct about everything. He knows it all, except on how to make it to the job site. We called to have him come look at a unit that was failing. He scheduled the date and time and then did not show up. He had boat issues and that was more important - his words. The next appointment he did not show up. On this call we were a bit more forceful in what he was doing to our renter. He stated he did not care about them, his boat was more important. At that point we both agreed to cancel the agreement and he stated he would send back the money we paid for the PM contract. Of course that money never arrives. But being the ever so smart man that Harold believes himself to be, he shows up at the units one year later. Thus, he fulfilled his contracts. He even had the audacity to knock on all the doors of the renters to tell them he is there. He did nothing to the units, just showed up. A very amazing person, very much a narcose and pathological.
Stay away form this person, company and his excuses as to why he can not provide the service he is paid to do.

Harold, the owner, responded to my somewhat frantic New Year's Day 2010 call regarding the lack of heat in my house. I had attempted to upgrade my thermostat control in my house. It got quite involved to find out I had the wrong type of unit. Could not get the old one back in either. No heat. Coldest day of the winter season. During the initial visit Harold suggested an annual contract for maintenance of the heating/cooling system and as the price was right just a few dollars more than the charge for this visit I said yes. He came out and evaluated my HVAC system and discovered a wiring issue inside the air handler that was causing fuses to blow. It took a few visits to eliminate all possible causes as the "blown fuse" condition was still occurring. In diagnosing the problem in my house (c. 1951) it took a few visits (little or no charge). He suggested rewiring the system as a possible solution so his men came out and accomplished it. Harold being a highly reputable man/businessman withheld charging me the $200 for the rewiring for 2 months to ensure the problem had been fixed. The problem was solved and I paid him immediately. Harold, a Navy veteran, is an honest, dedicated working man. If everyone conducted their business the way Harold does his...Angie's List would be obsolete.

I also had them put in a new unit at our club house. I have also used him for another house of mine. He came in the night to check the unit once when it wasn?t working. His price was right in line with many of other companies and under some of other companies. I did trust his opinion. I would continue to use him in future.
