The project went well. Denny got the permits, started, and finished within a reasonable time. They were flexible, added a light pole, reran water line, etc. but would not redo electrical. The quality of the work was good. The price was competitive. They have done several docks on my street and across the canal. There was only one problem and that was that I would not make the final payment until the permit was signed off by the county. I have done a lot of work on my house in the last year - new seawall, foundation work, roofing, and everyone expected that. (The new roof actually failed inspection the first time and I am glad I had leverage by not making final payment before sign-off.) In this case the permit was signed off with no issues. The problem was made worse by the city inspector being on vacation for a week. This was a minor issue. Just be clear whether you will make final payment before or after permit sign-off.
