THE WORST EXPERIENCE ANYONE COULD POSSIBLY EXPERIENCE!!! Poorest quality of workmanship I've ever seen (67 year old with many years of construction, remodeling and repair experience.). General Contractor showed only up at the site four times in nearly two years. it was to be completed in two (2) months!!! The job was contracted, and all materials paid, with only labor the labor cost as a balance. All of the windows (there were five (5) in the house itself, and eight (8) large glass panels for the lanai), were all ordered WRONG. What was delivered were the wrong windows and doors, as requested by the owner. Further, the two-car garage door arrived with the wrong decorative glass and the color. Doors installed and not level; same with windows. None of the windows had all the required Tapcons (by code). Most only had four (4) or five (5) when there were holes for several times that in each window. Three (3) windows installed in the house were at incorrect (vertical) offsets. There were air gaps in most windows and ALL DOORS. They installed the very expensive entrance door so poorly it rubbed the new floors inside, and had heavy leaking during rain showers. Aluminum work on the lanai, interior and exterior, was the most gross job imaginable. I drove nearly three (3) hours each way, almost daily for many months, to the worksite and back to my condo, and more than 90% of the time, NO ONE SHOWED UP TO WORK. Secor had his crews working on "flips" to make money for (let's call it) other purposes. Then, after months of this unbelievable experience of the lackluster routine from his crews, they just never returned. The entire amount of materials were paid in full, and much not delivered; therefore, not installed. We paid him $3800, when we shouldn't have as that was not to be done until job completion. When he asked for this payment, and it was only after they were part way done with the first part of the project, I reminded him that the job was not done. His response was "If you don't pay it, the crew will not show up." We paid it, and he failed to provide the $500.00 discount promised (on the project agreement) honoring my 22 years of military service. There's so much more, but we will leave that for now. Bottom line: Mike Secor (GC Trinity Development) and his crews were the most dishonest, unreliable, un-skilled crew anywhere I've seen in my lifetime. We've had to pay $14,000.00 for a different GC to come in and repair and/or replace that which Secor's crews had so badly/poorly installed. The Licensing Board (Sebring, FL) and Building Department members met to interview Secor and us. They were very upset with his (Secor) incompetence and approach during the meeting. They voted unanimously to fine Secor $5000.00 for abandoning the job, another $5000.00 for failing to obtain a PERMIT, and to preclude he and Trinity Development form working in the County ever again. The State DBPR (Tallahassee) investigated and ruled that there was Probable Cause against Secor. The last we heard, was that he was guilty and is now working on paying off his fine. Secor has done the same, or similar, things to many other people/families in Highlands County and beyond, from what has been learned in the past couple of years. We hope the plaintiff's, now in legal action against him, are 100% successful in making sure he, or any other company he creates (no matter the name or who controls it - on the books), is ever allowed to work in Florida again.
Description of Work: A lot!!! Installation of new impact windows and doors throughout a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage home with huge lanai, living and dining areas. New garage door. This was to be a total renovation, floor to ceiling.
