Brought my laptop in to have the fan replaced. It had started making noise as if it was having trouble spinning a couple months earlier so I disassembled my laptop and sure enough the fan was barely turning. I cleaned the fan and got it spinning almost normally again but I knew it was on the way out. Last week the fan started making those same noises again so I took it in to have it replaced as I didn't have the time to do it myself. Big mistake. Talked to the owner and explained what had happened and that I had already disassembled the laptop to clean the fan once already. It took me 1 1/2 hours to take it apart and put it back
together and I don't do it for a living. He said they charge by the hour so I'm thinking great this won't be a big charge since most of the time I spent taking it apart was trying to free up the screws that were torqued down.
When I pick it up I'm told there was a flat fee of 2 1/2 hours for laptop work regardless of how long it took. I was shocked that the owner tells me one thing and the woman at the desk says another. What a complete rip-off. If I can do it in an hour and a half there's no way a tech with the proper tools should take even longer.
So I get the laptop home and start to use it and almost immediately it overheats and shuts itself off. I can hear the fan spinning and feel it pushing air out but it's very weak. I can barely feel the air coming out of the vents. It's as if they installed the wrong fan. The original fan pushed more air even when it wasn't working at 100%.

After exhausting every trick I knew to get my laptop running again I brought it to Computer Healthcare. I was told that there were 3 levels of repair depending on the extent of the problem and that they try to fix all computers within 24 hours. This was a far cry from previous experiences with computer repairs so I was a bit skeptical. The next morning the shop called and said and quot;come pick it up, it was only a minor issueand quot;. I was charged the minimum fee ($60) and had my laptop working like new in less than a day. The counter personnel were quite helpful and answered my question in a way that even a computer moron like myself could understand. I highly recommend this company for computer problems, they even have a 5 dollar a day rental program to keep you online during the repair as well as refurbished computers for sale.

Very well. It took 3 days because the malware removal programs take a great deal of time.
