It went very well. They gave me pictures of the chimney where there are cracks. At this writing, they don't do mortar work so they told me about how much I should expect to pay if I choose to fix the problem. They told me that the chimney was save for gas logs but not for wood. They showed me pictures of the top of the chimney that needs repairs, some of it work that they can do as well as the flashing which they don't do. I'll be bringing them back for the cement work. They also discussed cleaning the brick around the fireplace.
They were efficient but fairly quick in their analysis, about 2 hours or less. My house is basically gutted for renovation so there's a lot of dust and debris around but they still brought in tarps to keep the floor clean.

I assume the chimney nwas adequately swept. I have no way of knowing for certain.

The thing that amazed me was how clean the whole process was. He shows up in a tophat. He is prompt and very neat.
