It took 3separate service men to complete job. It was lengthy repair job and they were prepared to do job.. I should have hired plumber with repair pipes a nd fittings on his truck.. it was not very complicated job

Serviceman used a "snake" to unclog toilet. He knew exactly what needed to be done and quickly solved the problem.

I was very impressed at how promptly that Roto-Rooter showed up after my call. Good impressions stopped there. As soon as he removed the outside clean-out cap he immediately said I think it is roots in the pipe or a broken pipe. The only tree nearby was a 5’ palm tree. It appears that my tenant must have been on drugs because no matter how much water we ran we could not duplicate the “back-up in the shower problem”. I can understand the $179 service call, but then I asked what the charge would be if the pipe required cleaning. It would have been $1500 to “jet it out” and if the 30’ of pipe had to be replaced it would have been $8000. Before he left he suggested that he should run a camera through the pipe just to be sure it was OK for $1000 and also stated, from visually looking into the pipe, where the cap had been removed, that it looked pretty greasy and was I sure I did not want him to clean it out for a now discounted rate of only $1000, with a six month guarantee. It did not look greasy to me. I have not had a need for a plumber in the past but will now look for one and know the pricing before hand.

Initial response was great. Long story short they lied about times and pricing. Told me it would take a week to get parts and total cost would be $1400.00z I ended up doing the job myself in two hours for $340.00.

They were excellent. They determined the location of the sewer line, which wasn't simple as the sewer pipes were joined from two different areas. They snaked out the lines, unclogged the lines, and then used a camera to look for roots and cracks and line breakeage. They found a breakage with roots intruding under a palm tree. They gave a quote for Jetting the line, and replacing the line. In addition, they called the various utility company's to come out to map their areas, so that if the decision is made to replace the line, they would be ready to go. Another company had been called out a week earlier to unclog the line. They wouldn't guarantee the work so when the stoppage occurred again, it would have been another charge. They also charged $350 for the camera, and said the sewer was connected to a street behind the house. So, Roto Rooter is by far the best. They are professional, knowledge, and great to work with.

The plumber that came (Mike V.) was very brief in his visit. He tried to snake the pipe from the roof with no success. He did not attempt to snake the drain from inside the house. He said there was a broken pipe inside of our wall, which he then said we would need to remove all of our cabinets and countertops ourselves, so they could dig into the foundation to repair the broken pipe. He quoted is $1250 for this repair. (No camera was used to confirm his guess). After a brief 30min visit, he charged us $300 and left us exactly where we started; with a clogged pipe and no confirmed answers! We then contacted another plumber to get a second opinion. This plumber snaked the pipe from INSIDE the house, freed the clog, and reassured us that although our pipes are OLD they are not BROKEN. VERY displeased with how quick our roto-rooter plumber was to jump to conclusions and leave us hanging out to dry, $300 poorer!! I feel like they were trying to scam us! Thankfully we thought enough to get another option on from an HONEST plumber!

I had been using them probably for at least 15 years. They are prompt and professional. The guys always work hard particularly Ben. I've never seen anything bad. They always show up in a clean truck wearing clean clothes. When they come into the house, they put the little paper booties on. They do a good job. This last time, I was surprised at how high the price was but then again it has been awhile since the last time they were here so I guess that was probably normal.

We had just moved into our new home in Bradenton, FL a week ago when we almost immediately began to have drainage problems (guest bathtub filled with dirty water when washing machine tub drained, toilets gradually stopped flushing properly, showers stopped draining, etc.) When my husband tried to snake out the lines from the roof with only temporary success, we called a licensed, well-reviewed plumbing company (NOT Roto-Rooter). The plumber repeated the snaking my husband had already done, but said his bigger snake head and longer cable would be more effective. They were not, and I had to call them a second time. On their second visit, they repeated the snaking in a different location. Again, it worked for about a day, then the problems returned. We had asked them during the first visit if perhaps the main drain needed cleaning, and where would we find it? They replied, "Go out to the backyard and start digging." Thanks.
     Obviously, by the time we called Roto-Rooter, we were at our wit's end. Long story short, we should have called them first. They were courteous, prompt and professional. Dave Hansbury came out immediately with a camera, diagnosed the state of our plumbing and returned ASAP the next day with the Hydro-Jet. He worked like a crazy man ,blasting 40 years of pipe scale and muck out of our pipes and he installed a new clean out, all the while explaining clearly and completely what we needed, what he was doing and why. I just ran a load of laundry and not so much as a gurgle from the guest bathtub. Bless you Dave Hansbury, wherever you are.

We had called another plumbing company first and they said they couldn't fix the problem because the rice just wouldnt remove itself from the inside of the pipe. They told us to call someone else so we call Roto-Rooter. We are glad we did they did have to come twice to first see and evaluate the problem but came back with all the tools needed to fix our problem. The technician that came was very polite/friendly and helpful. He did a great job.
