ROOTS SRQ

Did the job as expected with a house tear down; however, paid for 4 loads of fill dirt that they have yet to deliver (and we're going on a year). Always say not to worry, but not dependable in follow through. They were paid in full; our mistake looking in retrospect.

My dumpster experience with Roots SRQ could not have gone any better! When I decided that a dumpster was needed, it was nearly afternoon on a Friday. I asked if it was possible to get the dumpster the same day and they indicated that they would do their best. At about 5:15pm I decided that it wasn't going to happen, so I texted Roots and asked if they worked Saturdays. I got an instant response that they do. 15 minutes later, in the rain on a Friday evening - our dumpster was delivered. Roots SRQ went above and beyond my expectations with their delivery. The pick-up was nearly the same. I gave them my notice, they picked it up, and I was invoiced - no problems. To be honest, I originally picked them because their price was the most affordable, they charge the same for all sizes of dumpsters and they don't charge a daily fee. However, even if they charged more I would use Roots SRQ again for all of my dumpster needs.

-Bob Phinney of Roots promised 5 days to clear land. He atarted the day he said he would. They did not properly protectt my driveway amd cracked the edges of the concrete. After multiple excuses the land was finally cleared at 6 weeks (even then he did not do all of what he agreed to do). In the process he carelessly violated 10 feet of protected nature preserve and snapped a few limbs off of out beautiful live oak. -His estimate of 15 loads of fill turned into a false claim of 52 loads....more 3 times what he said at the beginning of the job. It gets worse. We had someone counting the dump trucks coming in and the number was less than half if what Phinney billed us for. -Bob Phinney never started the irrigation work -Bob Phinney never started the sod work. -He stopped returning calls, texts and emails and just abandoned our back yard as an almost 1/2 acre dirt pit -in all of the Florida rain the fill that was there began to erode. We finally called another company to come in. They finished the clearing work, did the irrigation and added the sod all in just two days! We are now suing Bob Phinney and Roots for the cost of our new landscaper who had to come in and finish the work Phinney never completed. We fell for a great website and slick promises by Roots SRQ/Sarasota and Bob Phinney. In the end our yard was torn up and incomplete for almost three months while Phinney took over $10,000 of our money and just stopped showing up. NEVER use this company or Bob Phinney for clearing or landscaping needs.
