Paul Davis Restoration of Sarasota & Manatee

Took 8 months to remodel our bathroom. The destroyed our bathtub and had to buy a new one. They destroyed our vanity and had to buy a new one. There were at least 20 times they didn’t show up when they said the would be here. No communication with subcontractors, so I was pretty much stuck dealing with subcontractors in my home that spoke no English. Project manager did not know how to communicate to the point I had to contact the owner at least 15 times with issues. Bathroom looks good finished, but man was it 8 months of pure headaches dealing with them. We are now remodeling our 2nd bathroom and will not be using Paul Davis. Glad this nightmare is finally over.

Worst experience ever. Beware of this company. The initial dry out and demolition happened quickly, but the restoration took a very long time (going on seven months and still not complete). Hired them right after a flooding event in my home Aug 27, 2017. I am still waiting for my home to be completed and it’s now March 2018. At first their excuse for no activity was that I was waiting on insurance to pay out. I’ve had the money since Dec. 12! They don’t share cost as the project progresses and communication is very poor. After they completed my drywall and insulation and I paid them from a $10k ins. advance payment, there was a long stagnant period where no work was being done and no communication about any of it. There has been excuse after excuse, and they don’t make your rebuild a priority unless you get nasty and harass them about it. So, on top of going through pretty much the worst thing a homeowner can go through I’ve had to fight tooth and nail to get this company to do the job I contracted them to do. They do things in their own time, and won’t even give you a timeline for completion even after being repeatedly asked. I had to make calls this past week to the flooring company to get that moving. Isn’t that why you hire a contractor?! Isn’t that their job? My advice to this company- do a better job with customer service and managing expectations. If I had performed like this at my job; I would have been fired months ago. At the very least, set a schedule for communication weekly, etc. with the homeowner. A simple unsolicited check in goes a long way. Even if things can’t be done; give the homeowner some piece of mind by communicating that clearly rather than leaving it vague and nebulous.

From start to finish it was a great experience! The communication was excellent and I always felt I involved in all decision making.

I cannot say enough good about Paul Davis Restoration.  From the owner (Rick Dannenmiller) to our project manager ( Todd Fork) and the entire office staff.  
We had some hiccups in the project and they were so quick to respond and resolve the issues.  They have continued to respond to our calls even as recent as 3 months ago which was a full 18 months since project completion.  They responded in 2 days and made arrangements for immediate repair even though it was proven to be not related to their repairs.  That was amazing service. 
I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this team.   I am so sorry that I did not get this review on the website earlier.

They did 6 months worth of work. They did good quality work for me. They had to do a lot of testing and more than I thought due to the mold, this was required by my insurance. They were very informative during the process and let me know all the steps involved along the way.

They were great.  They worked with us on what we wanted with our home.  They stayed in touch with us throughout the process.  I would recommend them to anyone.
