Moving
We spoke to the receptionist ( Lisa ) at Mr. Mover Sarasota. We described the service we needed and emphasized the fact that the sofas were heavy, so, they should send some " strong men". She did not ask how much they weighed. They took $199 on our credit card for 1 hour of service. Two young men arrived. They didn't appear to be very " big". They had a very difficult time with the first sofa. My 58 year old husband had to help up the stairs. Then, while the movers were lifting it across a new, solid cherry, brand new $2,000 chair we had carried in ourselves, they put a 4" gouge across the arm. One of the men said " I'm outta here" and walked away! He refused to move the other sofa and loveseat. The other young man stayed and talked to my husband and said he was sorry but they couldn't finish the job and also that we would not be refunded any of the $199. He called his manager who said they would have to listen to the taped conversation of our order on Monday to see if they had been told it was over 200lbs. There was never a mention of 200 lbs, BUT, they were told it was very heavy! They did not call us on Monday. We waited until the afternoon, called them, and were told they hadn't listened to the conversation yet. When we finally did get an answer it was obvious they knew we had told them it was heavy. They offered to come back, but said it would be an additional $199. We have not heard from them since.

It was very poor and it ended up costing me a lot more money afterwards when they moved the appliances. They didn't listen to anything I requested. I asked them to cover the appliances because I was selling them, they refused and first of they tried to fit them in my elevator which I told them they would not fit and damaged the frame in my elevator and then took them downstairs and tore a hole in my wall when they were trying to take it downstairs; this is the refrigerator. And then they scratched up the appliances so much that I lost money when I went to sell them. And then they did the same thing as they moved my leather couch upstairs which I asked them to cover, they refused and scratched along the wall which tore the leather. They refused to listen to a woman I would hear by myself. I couldn't get them to respond; they told me I needed to take pictures of the damage before they would consider having someone come out and look it. The truck they had packed outside had an oil leak all over my drive which is made out of cement. They were on time.

Moving
Not good - In my experience, this company is very unprofessional. I am someone who never complains and never gives a company a bad review but I must say that I've been extremely disappointed with this company.
First, Mr. Mover completely forgot to show up on my move out date (I was told that Stacey had screwed up the move date on their end) and they did not answer the phone when I tried to reach them to find out where the movers were. So, I had to take a day off of work to move the next day.
Then, I never received any invoices from the company for my monthly storage. So I tried to call the office to find out my balance and make sure I was paid up. However, no one ever answers the phone. I left many polite and detailed messages but never received a return phone call. In my messages, I was very clear that I was calling to find out my balance and to pay whatever was owed. I even tried to use their on-line chat tool to find out my balance when I could not get a return phone call but the response chat stated that I would have to call the office to find out my balance.
After calling for many days, we finally got through and were told a balance owed and monthly due dates going forward. However, apparently they stated the wrong amount and now, after 5 months, they want more money. I feel as though I did all I could to keep my account current but it was like they didn't want to tell me what to pay. I can't imagine a company that doesn't send invoices or answer their phone when you are trying to send them money.
They are so difficult to reach that I would never recommend this company.

Moving
.The move went very well until they got to Winter Garden. It was a very hot day. Both individuals were sweating profusley when they moved two large cushioned couches into the house leaving sweat stains on the cushions. We had the cushions professionally cleaned but they couldn't remove the stains. I was able to talk with one individual who told me I would have to talk with another person. I called and left numerous messages with this particular person with Mr. Mover but have received no response from them at all. They are not returning my calls; therefore, we are grading them at an overall "F".

Moving
He was very reasonably priced. He was negotiable. He packs well and doesn't break anything. He shows up when he is supposed to. He's a quick person. He was associated with a woman who did the packing for me and he wasn't satisfied with it but it wasn't his fault. He had to complete it and he charged me extra $150 but I wouldn't say that was unreasonable.

Moving
The movers were not happy when they found out that they would have to take apart and re-assemble a set of bunk beds.(second red flag). My son explained that he had spoken with their boss and it had been agreed that the movers would take care of this task. All items that were to go on the truck were loaded including the milky white box with the Xbox in it. It also included our grandson's toy car collection- he is only 5 but is very into anything that rolls on wheels. It had been duct taped so that approximately 6 times so that nothing would fall out of it. The box was not numbered, but was sort of see through. Included in the move was bedroom, living room, and kitchen furniture. One of the items being moved by Mr. Mover a mattress and box spring. They were moving the items from Natchez Ct in North Port, to Greenwood Av in North Port an approximate 2 mile trip. In between the two locations, the box with our grandson's toys "disappeared".
When they got to the new location the two "movers" starting arguing between themselves in a very audible tone and then proceeded to drop our son's mattress on the ground and drag it through the mud and water. Our son and his wife had to clean it ourselves in order to sleep on it.
Subsequent calls to the moving company office have resulted in hang-ups and non returned phone calls. They have insurance but if an item is lost, they will only be liable for 60 cents a pound for the item lost. So, if you lose a hundred pound item- you are only getting back $60.00. The "office personnel" (Josh) has not been forth coming with any information other than to say - "we are working on it" - this move should have taken at the most- 2 1/2 hours- they dallied around and even with prodding took their sweet time. You must pay in advance for this move (how they figure that out is beyond me). Our son was dealing with 2 young children and trying to supervise a move at the same time. He was concerned with his children's safety first and was not giving much thought to the idea that they would steal from a child. With everything unloaded, he thought he had everything until our grandson asked for his xbox and it could not be located it or the box that it was packed in. He immediately called the Mr. Mover company and gee what a surprise, "we're looking into it" and unreturned phone calls have been the norm for this company. Our son and daughter-in-law believe that the driver and helper of the truck have first hand knowledge of what happened to the box. According to their boss, the drivers said that our son inspected the truck before they left- but he didn't go down to the truck because he was caring for his children. So far - northing has been rectified and Mr. Mover is not forthcoming with an adequate answer as to the missing box.
