NIce to work with.
A week before my cut off, 3 men came with trucks and equipment. I had to go back over what I wanted done with them because they had only a brief description of the work requested originally. They were able to cut down all the trees I pointed out, remove vines, and "limb up" many other trees. They hauled away branches and vines and tree trunks. They said the planters were too heavy for the boom lift to remove from my patio, so those are still there. After working a full second day, one of the men came to ask me if I was satisfied with the work they had done and would consider the job complete. I pointed out that I wanted the remaining brush hauled away and the stumps ground. He said that they would take away the remaining brush when they left and another man with a different piece of equipment would come grind the stumps away. I wrote a check for $3000 and left the men to finish the work. After they were gone, I noticed that there was a remaining pile of brush. I telephoned Lamb's again and was assured someone would come pick it up right away. The brush was taken away the next day. The stump grinder did not come until the very end of the week and only removed the stumps in the front yard because he could not maneuver his equipment through my backyard fencing. That was disappointing. He left enormous piles of wood chips where he ground the stumps.
Overall, I felt like the work done was well done. The workers were pleasant young men that worked quickly using appropriate equipment and safety precautions. I was disappointed that the man that originally gave me the quote did not oversee the work at all. Also, I found out that the man with the stump grinder came very late because he had not been scheduled to come to my yard until after all the other work was done when he was on vacation. Still, the work was done by my deadline. Even though it took 3 days instead of the 2 that I was quoted, I was not billed for more days of work. Despite the fact that some of the work I wanted done was not done, I feel like enough work was done and well enough that I got my money's worth.
