I have waited 7 months for Palermo moving to address our issues. They have made it clear that they will not be addressing any of them. They quoted my mother just over $3000 for the packing and moving to her new home approximately 8 miles away. They arrived to pack the day before and never said anything about a change in the quote. They arrived the next day, loaded the truck, moved everything to the new place and unloaded the truck. In the process one of the movers came to us to show that her specialty rhythm animated clock had sha%ered and was no longer func&onal. We informed Palermo moving immediately and were told that this would be resolved. A)er the movers *nished, Susan, arrived at the door with a new bill for over $7000!!! MORE THAT DOUBLE THE QUOTE!!! At no point during the packing, loading, or unloading were we given any indica&on that the price was going to more than double the quote!!! My mother went ahead and just paid it! They also told us that they would replace the broken clock. However, they never did. First they wanted pictures of the broken clock which we provided promptly. Then we heard nothing. We reached out to them again about the situa&on and they wanted a receipt for the clock. The clock had been purchased years before and there was no receipt. I provided them with informa&on about the clock and where it can be purchased. The same clock brand new is approximately $625. The clock was not brand new so we were actually surprised that they ini&ally o;ered to replace it. As my mother con&nued to unpack her belongings she found several of my grandmother's irreplaceable china that THEY packed that was damaged! We did not even a%empt to ask for anything for those damaged items.So now, 7 months later, they have decided they will do nothing and they will not even speak to us. I just called and politely asked to discuss the situa&on and Susan rudely quipped, "tell your mother to read her email!! She can call her lawyer!" and hung up on me.If you choose this moving company, I recommend that you make sure your contract states that they inform you of any change in the quoted price or perhaps list a limit that if the price changes more than a certain amount, they need to let you know! Also if you have any precious, specialty items....don't let them move it. Move it yourself if you are able. The drivers and movers were WONDERFUL gentlemen. Susan and Joe have clearly shown no integrity, honesty, or responsibility.

We recently used J. Palermo Moving & Storage for an out-of-state move. I obtained at least 10 quotes, mostly from national movers. J. Palermo claims to be a family-run business, and the initial conversation with office staff seemed personable. Their quote ($6900+) was the 2nd highest that we received, but my main concern was, how much are they going to pad the bill after they've loaded the furniture? -- For 2 weeks, I was back & forth with the office manager, and over that 2 weeks, decided to sell some of my stuff instead of having it moved. I asked her a couple times, if the price would change if we removed some items from the list. When I received our quote, the manager assured me that unless we substantially added more stuff, the price given was a firm price. We've all heard the horror stories about moving companies loading your furniture onto the truck, then jacking the price up when the consumer is over a barrel. I took a chance with J. Palermo because I HOPED they, as our hometown, family-run business wouldn't do that. You would THINK $6900+ would be enough for these people? -- Come moving day, I had removed a loveseat sofa, a glass TV stand, a roll-top desk, and my girlfriend removed 2 tables. That's a substantial amount less than what we originally listed. We did add some extra wall photos, and they claimed we added more boxes, which my girlfriend denies, BUT, even if we did add a few more items, we removed WAY MORE stuff than what we originally gave them. -- Once our furniture was on the truck, sure as heck, here comes the phone call from the office. J. Palermo Moving was nice enough to give us use of a dedicated truck, which was less than 3/4 full. What difference would it have made if we added some extra stuff. We were hoping they wouldn't pull the bait-n-switch pricing scheme that so many movers are notorious for? NOPE! They wanted another $657 from us! Are you freakin' kidding me? That's almost another 10% added to the original quote. -- There's NO way in heck that the difference between what we subtracted from the load, to what they added, should've added up to another $657 in charges! -- To the credit of J. Palermo Moving, they did give us use of 1 truck, and 1 employee (they promised 2, but people do get sick). The company employees, the office manager and even Joe himself were pleasant to deal with. However, padding our bill at the last minute by an additional 10% was uncalled for. I chose J. Palermo because I hoped that being the local, family-owned business would mean they wouldn't bend-over their local customers like they did. So, that makes J. Palermo Moving & Storage only average in my opinion. The move itself went well, but It's a shame that a well-run company has to extract hundreds of dollars more, when we were already paying on the high end of all the quotes received!

Joe Palermo Movers are an outstanding moving company. I have lived all over the world and yet I had never encountered movers like this company. From the outstanding and friendly office staff to the wonderful, kind, friendly, and professional movers themselves, my experience was one of distinction. My household goods were packed in such a manner that nothing was broken, chipped, etc., Joe Palermo Movers is a company of excellence

We had the same crew on both ends and they were amazing - very friendly and extremely hard working. They picked up our items in Venice, Fl and stored them for a month and a half. Then packed them up again, drove to Palm Bay, Fl and unloaded them at our new house. For all that handling, storage and driving across the state - we had no damage. Well done!

Joseph Palermo is the BEST moving company we have ever used (over a dozen moves in NJ, NJ to FL, and in FL). They handle all the details right! Their estimates are complete and detailed. We were moving out for a full renovation: everything to storage, store for 6 months, then everything back. We needed access while items were stored, so we used another storage company. We packed kitchen and breakable items, which they moved -- no damage whatsoever. And we thought we'd have 10-15 boxes and had 20+. And lots of oddball stuff. Floor lamps, ironing boards. Dishwasher. Glass top furniture. They call to confirm several days in advance. They call when they're on the way. They were all professionals, no fly by night personnel that have never moved anything. Absolutely EVERYTHING was carefully wrapped, and fragile items were stored with their moving pads. We were delighted with their service.

This was the very best move experience of my 70 years (I've moved maybe 10 times). I interviewed half a dozen movers before finding J. Palermo. Mr. Palermo spent over an hour doing a thorough walk through with me and sent a written estimate/contract (as I required). He was absolutely a pleasure to work with - and his crew was equally excellent. As often happens, there were a few last minute additions - "no problem!" I am glad my move is over and I am very happy that I chose J. Palermo to do the job. He is completely professional, considerate and thorough. Do your self a favor - get a quote from J. Palermo for your next move.

Great. At the time there were a few worries, but moving is exhausting for all involved and, looking back it was the best move I've ever had: The most professional, and client centered owner and office staff; and the least damage to our shipment in all of my experience moving.

I hired J Palermo Moving & Storage, Inc. to load a rental truck for me March 8th so it could be held for 3 days before I was able to get it offloaded at my new home. The crew was professional and efficient. My furniture and boxes were handled with care. When it came time to offload the truck the same crew arrived and distributed my belongings throughout the house as I requested. Moving can be a stressful time but J Palermo Moving made it very easy. I would highly recommend this company.

So far we are in the middle  , spacing it out seems less stressful ... coming back to  pack  garage and take  rest of furniture  from  3 more rooms... Great  personalities . Book ahead .... last weeks in June very busy .. families are moving to new schools ... Book ahead if moving in late June!

Palermo moving originally moved our furniture out of a house in Sarasota so that we could rent the house. They stored all of the items in their warehouse in Sarasota for about 3/4 of a year until we were ready for them to bring the items to Chicago. They brought everything with a detailed description list and checked off the items as they were pulled from the truck. All of the items seem to be in great condition after being stored for almost year. They were very friendly, great to deal with and tried very hard to meet our needs. We would recommend them to our friends.

Very well. Everything happened in the manner that was planned.

The movers showed up very promptly, and were courteous and professional. They were very careful to avoid damage to both furniture and to the houses.
We paid a little more because we thought it was worth it to get really good service.
We had dressers and quite a few bookcases that needed to be carried upstairs. This work was very well done.
My only hesitation in using these movers again would be that both movers were smokers. They did all of their smoking outdoors,
but in the future I might seek movers who are nonsmokers.

They were excellent. They were on time, did what they said they would do and charged what they said they would charge. They were careful with our items and very professional. We are going to have them move us from our current apartment to our new home.

He arrived as scheduled. Joe and his crew were very careful and informative. He advised me about plastic wrapping on leather which I very much appreciated. This was the first time I have used professional movers. We changed the move as our remodeling got more extensive than we first thought. He accomadated us perfectly and moved the heaviest items into the home. Then we went to storage where he off loaded the rest for us. Since we could not unpack much at our new house he offered to let me use his wardrobes for FREE and return them when we were done! Wow, after all the horror stories I have heard about moving; rest assured this is THE company to go with for your move. We could not be more satisfied.

This was the easiest part of the move to my new house.  A company representative came to the house, gave me packing tips, we agreed upon a price and moving date.  The furniture was inventoried and we agreed upon the number of boxes that I would have to move.  The day of the move the movers were there on time.  They were pleasant, efficient and worked very hard.  They used care and were a pleasure to work with.  It was a move of about 20 miles.  Everything arrived in perfect condition and they were done in less time than estimated.  The price quoted was the price I paid.   It was like moving with a bunch of friends helping!  Everyone I dealt with in the company was great!  I would use them again!
