I've used GAM a few dozen times times over the last three years. Of course with a service like this, people come and go, and just as you get used to someone they move on to something else. While it's hard to find any cleaning service that performs consistently, GAM usually does a good job regardless of who they send. I've had about a dozen different people and they've been honest, courteous, and didn't spend much time socializing, which is all good. They will use my cleaning products if I request and are very open to meeting my needs. If I used them more often I would probably get even better service because they'd be more accustomed to my needs.
My only problem with GAM, which we have worked on with both the scheduler and the owner, is that sometimes they don't clean the kitchen because their records tell them not to. Somewhere along the line, someone put it in my permanent record that I didn't want the kitchen cleaned, and no matter how many times I tried to correct it, about half the time the person does a quick job in the kitchen or doesn't do it at all. With my schedule it's easier then to do it myself instead of calling GAM and getting someone to come out a second time. The owner himself has gotten involved when I call because he's so interested in making it right.

He did a very good job and I'd recommend him very highly. I plan on using him again this summer. He gave me extra info on how to clean the floors, which was very nice of him.

I love Got A Maid? and I have been using then for about a year and half. They charge $35 an hour. Our housekeeper , Pam Hershberger, is incredibly thorough, reliable, and has become a part of family.

I hate to write a bad review, but this company was terrible. Where to start? I was quoted a price of $105 for my condo, and was told it was for an estimated 3 hours. My place is not messy by any means (I am the type who straightens up before the maid arrives!) and this was around what I have paid in the past and pay now (for a new service I am happy with). The first bill was for $213.50. I can understand a small underestimate, but over 100% more is high. The explanation was that a first clean costs more because the cleaner is not familiar with the home and it will get less over time. I accepted the explanation and agree that could be the case. However, it was downhill after that. I was told I would have the same cleaner each week, and every week it was someone different. The fourth time the cleaner (another new face) brought her husband to help, without the knowledge of the company. When Marina found out she was noticeably upset. On the good side, everyone did a good job cleaning. The reason I fired the company was because they were 30-45 minutes late EVERY time. I told Marina I did not care what time they arrived, as long as I knew when they were coming. But I am a single parent and work and go to school and my schedule is tight. If they are going to start at 9am then tell me 9am. if they are going to start at 10am then tell me 10am. Is that too much to ask? Whenever I called I would not be called back for several days and was always told they would be on time and quot;next timeand quot;. A couple if times I left the home 30 minutes after the scheduled time to go to work / school and the cleaner then called me later from my front door asking to be let in. Marina is a very nice woman or I would have not put up with this service for as long as I did - 5 scheduled cleaning over 10 weeks.

"Thanks for the review: I would like to point out that we Quoted $175.00 for the initial cleaning and we did go over time, and our policy is that we never go over what we quoted without first geting the approval of the home owner. We do try our best to send the same technician to our clients, but it dosnt always work out especialy if the client is not on a regular time schedule. We have reviewed our systems (Punctuality, Phone) and revised them to provide the most amazing cleaning experience ever.... we have tried to reach this particular client numerous times to refund his money as our guarentee states that you will be amazed....or its FREE! The cleaner there had called me to ask if I would authorize one additional hour of cleaning, because she found squirrel in the drier. I had authorized this additional hour. The next thing I know I received an itemized email from them showing additional charges for wall washing. This was not something that was part of my additional authorization. They did a good job, but I'm quite annoyed that this additional charge was tacked on without consulting me first. Additional, I do not believe that the walls were actually washed. My realtor, who was onsight, had not reported any walls being washed.

"thank you for posting this... Our commitment is to provide the most amazing cleaning experience ever... It was not the tech that called the client, it was our office. It should also be noted that the client did not allow us to do an onsite quote and evaluation of this property, it should also be noted that the squirrel in the dryer was decaying and the house smelled badly, we asked for an extra hour and the client stated she wanted to sell the house and do what needs to be done...... what needed to be done was wash the walls and do a deep clean which we did and it took 2 extra hours and we only charged her for 1 hour due to clients complaining even after she told us to do what it takes to sell the unit! ...... I am glad that client points out it was a good job that we did..............BTW we have pics of the squirrel :-)"

I called Dave Kaufman at Got A Maid and it was the best phone call I could have made! Dave was very responsive, on time and extremely professional. We agreed to have Pam come and clean every two weeks and I could not be more satisfied. Pam was very thorough. I would have no issues leaving my home while Pam was there alone.
