We scheduled our Prius for an oil change for which we were charged
$63.14.  My husband authorized them to install a cabin air filter which
cost $39.40.  Those two procedures come to  $102.54
We did not
authorize any other charges - only a factory multi-point inspection
which has no charge.  They did additional unrequested Fuel Injection
Service at a cost of $97.95 and Air Induction Service at a cost of
$102.89.  These additional unrequested services cost more than twice as
much as the oil and filter change we took the car in for.  We will not
be returning to Germain Toyota for future service.

The manager of Germain Toyota contacted us on Monday and we reached an agreement about the misunderstanding that was acceptable to both parties.  We appreciate the prompt response and adjustment to charges made by the manager.  They were both courteous and helpful.  We will therefore upgrade our rating for the service.

When I took the Toyota in, they were very efficient and professional. They took my car promptly and had it ready in a timely manner. The shop was large, clean, busy, and very organized. Seems like a well-run auto shop, I do question the validity of the "Factory Recall". I got the feeling the recall was a bogus excuse to get folks with aging vehicles in for a free inspection. Then, as they did with me, recommend some work. Not a bad thing, just a little sneaky, I would rather them just invite folks in for a free inspection, instead of under the premise of a recall, They also took the opportunity, while I was waiting for the "recall" check, to have a salesman hit me up for a new vehicle. Again, not a bad thing. Very smart business, really. But it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. It took me the better part of a morning and time is very precious these days.You can't blame Toyota for coming up with clever ways to drum-up business. And based on my experience there, I would use them in the future and recommend them to others.

It took them one and a half hour to fix the flat tire. I could have gone to Goodyear and got it done in 15 minutes. The guy at Toyota said it would not take that long. I asked them why I had to pay them for an hour and a half as they were not busy there. It was originally $40 and they gave me $10 off because I waited for an hour and a half and I was talking about going to Goodyear the next time around and told them that I would never come there again. The tire got fixed. I have had them do three services on my car this past year. The only time I got A-level service is when a girl worked on my car. My car is running and it works. Toyota gives us these coupons because they want us to bring our car back to Toyota. I am just so cheap, I would have gone somewhere else if not for the coupon or if I had a cheaper price. I drive a Toyota and this is the only Toyota here.

"Here at Germain Toyota we patch tires from the inside, we do not plug tires. This requires dismount, repair and balance. Tire shops can complete this repair much quicker by installing a plug, which just pushes in from the outside, and are prone to coming back out. An inside patch is a safe permanent repair. This vehicle was also a FJ Cruiser, which has the larger 17” truck tires, which do require a little extra time but no extra charge. Here at Germain Toyota, we do value every customer’s time and we appreciate their business."

Brand new Camry was found to have defective rear window tint and also several small dents/scratches on left rear roof panel existing at time of sale. Salesman promised to schedule service appointment to have defects repaired. Showed up for appointment, waited hours, then was told that repairs would have to be done at body shop and at off-premises tint installer. Scheduled another service. Showed up for service and left car. After dozens of phone calls and promises, returned a week later to pick-up car. Window tint had been removed, but not replaced. Left car again. After another four days, picked up car in spite of less than perfect window tint or body work. Anything was better than leaving the car with Germaine. An awful experience from start to finish.

I have consistently received exemplary service from this company, and today was no different. My car just wouldn't turn over this morning, took almost 15 minutes before I was able to get it up and running. Headed straight for Germain, I think I arrived there approximately 8:35am. When I asked about getting a shuttle ride to work, the service rep assured me that they could take a look at it right away while I waited in the lounge. It was quickly determined to be the battery, which was changed out at a speed that would put and Indy pit crew to shame. I was checked out and on my way to work by 9:05am.

Tire Kingdom was great--they sold me new tires and got me back on the road by 8:00p.m. The following day, I took the "piece of ----" spare tire back to Germaine Toyota, and got the "used car salesman" brush-off, "get her out the door as quickly as possible," "that salesman isn't here anymore," "well, what do you expect me to do about it? It's not my responsibility. Sorry, you're out of luck." (You've been there. You know the side-step shuffle these guys use.) All I really wanted was a sincere apology, and a HINT of integrity. No luck. SO--I'm telling you and I'm going to tell the BBB. Of course, I'll never do business with Germaine Toyota again, but I imagine they're happy about that, as they just consider me to be a nuisance. I suppose I am, but my father owned four tire stores in Oklahoma, and he had integrity, and he was smart. He knew that you want to keep a customer for life, and so, if they have a complaint, you listen to them and try to rectify the situation. Est. cost -$19,000.
