We called on Michael to do a house inspection based on his excellent reputation in the industry...The sellers had a “pre-sell” inspection on their house by another home inspector and asked if we wanted to use that one for our consideration....After looking over their inspection report, the house appeared to be without many issues.... However, We decided we needed Michael to do an another inspection to confirm that the sellers report was valid and comprehensive. And we are glad we did as he discovered many more discrepancies that the first inspector did not comment on or find......We were present during the inspection and when he was done he took us around, pointed out exactly what he had discovered, and gave us his thoughts on what needed to be done to correct each discrepancy. A total professional, we would highly recommend him for anyone who wants a real thorough inspection. Great Job!

Typically, I’m not one that will take the time to write reviews for services. However, due to the excellent service provided by Michael at Direct Inspections, I believe that it’s warranted. Michael is very professional and thorough in his inspections, and his service fee included a certified HVAC professional as well as termite/pest inspection. Michael took the time to explain everything in detail, answering a variety of questions and concerns we had, providing his assessment of issues when asked. Not only did Michael provide us with a thorough inspection, he went above and beyond answering a multitude of questions on his own time and was quick to respond when called after his scheduled inspection time. I can't recommend Michael and Direct Inspections enough. We were coming up to our 10 month walk through with our builder and wanted to know where all the "gremlins" were before our builder warranty was up. Michael was extremely thorough in the inspection he completed on the condo we are anticipating to purchase. Michael brings in an AC tech. with him for his inspection and in our case even though the AC unit was only 3 years old it still had a coolant leak and was had an extra filter that was not needed. Michael also pointed out multiple electrical safety issues and even the dryer that would not automatically shut-off. Very detailed inspection.

Outstanding. Michael was seriously challenged with this unique house. He showed up early, had to deal with personal effects piled throughout, numerous other workers on premises yet patiently performed the inspection with integrity, relying on professional experience to call attention to items that, for better or worse, help determine the 'state of the home'. He communicated immediately upon completion of the 2.5+ hour inspection and followed up later in the day with the full report with photos. Again, he was available to answer questions and shared recommended business references which for one new to the area, was much appreciated.

I chose Direct Inspections to inspect our brand new home. I did not think it would be worth my time to get a brand new home inspected thinking there was going to be any issues. Boy was I wrong. I first contacted Direct Inspections via their online form and they contacted me very quickly to set up the inspection appointment. I want to take a minute out of our hectic schedule of buying a home, and all of the stress that goes along with doing so, to recognize a GREAT local business. Our BIGGEST concern was the condition of the home, and if there were any underlying issues. Like most buyers, we didn't have a clue as to who to contact to give us a honest assessment of the condition. We don't run in those circles, so how do we know if the inspector is working with the agent to get the home to pass, or being honest? We've bought several houses in our time, and each Inspection was handled by one person. I've always questioned this. How can one person be an expert in every area? Pool/Roof/Foundation/etc? Michael with Direct Inspections was fantastic. I am purchasing a home in Sarasota and we are trying to do a quick close. I called Michael on a Sunday and he answered the phone (off to a great start). We scheduled the inspection over the phone and he had a confirmation e-mail to me within minutes. He was up front about costs and I felt it was reasonable and inline with the comps in the area. He also had two independent professionals come out (one for A/C and one for termites) which was a huge bonus!!! Michael was thorough and honest at the inspection. He showed up at the exact time he said he would. Michael also had 3 separate, independent inspectors for the HVAC system, a pool inspector and a termite inspector during the 3 hour inspection. All of the inspectors were friendly and quite knowledgeable. Each one took the time to explain things to me and listened to my concerns and gave my concerns extra attention. Michael had the special tools necessary to do an excellent job including an infrared detector to make sure the heat and AC distribution was efficient. I was told I would have the completed report by the end of the day and it was delivered via email as promised along with pictures of the troubling areas. Michael was well organized, methodical and very detailed. Although I am now retired, I was a real estate investor and property manager for 25 years and oversaw the complete maintenance of apartment complexes and industrial buildings I owned. I have dealt with hundreds of contractors while renovating many buildings. Michael stands out at the top of the list of contractors who are very competent, well organized and at the same time easy to communicate with. Michael found some serious issues with the house he was inspecting for me and, not wanting future headaches, I cancelled the Purchase Agreement based on the inspection. I will use Michael again when I find another house and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and relatives.
