Stereo and Home Theater System Service
We hired Digital Homes to install a CAT5 network throughout a commercial building that had 14 rooms as well as installing cabling for 14 TVs in each room. Mark created a proposal which we discussed at length before the work started.
As one of the above reviewers says he was very difficult to pin down. We had to delay parts of other work, such as drywalling because he was not available.
One major issue was that the TVs did not have a computer VGA input. Mark told us that we could run a VGA to Component cable instead. It was only after these (expensive) cables were installed behind the drywall in all the rooms and the TVs hooked up that we realized that the cables did not work and would never have worked. His poor advice cost us over $1000 of cabling and we had to rush order a further $1000 of new cables and software which we then had to set up ourselves, which added several days to the work causing extreme time-related stress.
When confronted with his mistake Mark complained that he would lose money on the job, not taking any consideration of the loss in time and money we had incurred directly due to his mistake. He then became aggressive and blamed us for the error and threatened to walk off the job. As we were under a extremely strict deadline to open the business we had to beg him to go back to work AND pay him the full fee. His behavior was disgraceful.
We then had some problems with a Computer Server he had built for us. It turned out he had set up the computer hard-drives completely wrong (wrong RAID type) and we basically had to set it up again from scratch, which took a whole day of our time. When confronted with his mistake he accused us of lying. Once again he offered no refund and did not even apologize.
Another thing that is still causing us trouble is that he did not label any of the CAT5 Ethernet connections and we are having to go through them all again now to find out which ones go where.
We cannot recommend him for any commercial work.

Home Automation Service
The installation that should have taken a few days dragged on for months. Mark seldom arrived on time and frequently had to leave in the middle of the day. The equipment that was installed was defective or did not conform to the original contract. Alarm contacts that were only rated for interior use were installed outside, exposed to the elements. They quickly failed. The manufacturer stated they should not be used outside. A TV IR/FR repeated was installed but never worked properly. I was told that it was because a neighbor's system was interfering. My neighbors do not have a system. When I hired a 2nd company they explained it was the wrong unit. When it was changed out, the new unit works fine. A security camera burned out due to a inadequate power transformer installed by Mark. The Security DVR burned out in a year. The main control panel was not installed properly. It did not have insulation washers to keep it from shorting out with the metal housing. When you turn on the ceiling fan, a table lamp on the other side of the room comes on. The automated A/C control does not work as stated. I have to make sure the A/C is not running when I set the alarm at night or the house temperature will shift up or down by 10 degrees. After many complaints, Mark just said that he was too busy to come out for at least a month. So I hired a 2nd company. Somethings just can't be repaired without scraping the entire system. He did send me a check for a monetary adjustment. But the repairs with the 2nd company far exceeded the compensation.
