They said that if I needed a new air conditioner to replace the old product, they would credit the $495 towards the purchase of the new air conditioner.
I called Bob Rizi who basically told me it was not his problem and to call Custom Air. He raised his voice in the process.
Custom air said they would fix it but they would charge me. I raised h*** and threatened to sue them. Only then did one of the owners agreed to fix it "for cost". I still ended up paying $1200-1500 for the fix and to correct the damage caused by the sewage back-up and pump the septic tank that was not supposed to be there.
In summary, Bob Rizi Plumbing charged me for work they didn't perform and Custom Air came back and did the work that Bob Rizi was supposed to do. They were not about to lose any money in the process of making it right.
I guess you could give them some credit since they bought the problem from Bob Rizi. Sometimes your the window and sometimes your the bug. It's pretty easy to see which one I was in this deal.
The actual crew that did the repair was great and did and excellent job, except they had to remove a bunch of landscaping to crush the septic tank. They replanted it all but it all died. I just paid $600 to have that repaired also.
I could go on but I think you get the picture. Would I recommend Custom Air? I wouldn't go out of my way to say don't use them since this was an odd situation that they did not start. I think they could have handled it better, but that's my opinion as a home owner who was treated badly by the previous company. So I was already fit to be tied when Custom Air got involve.
At least they fixed it and the crew was on time, polite and very competent.
We called the next morning and a technician was at our house before noon to fix the issue. A few days later they called to tell us there was a recall on our thermostat and asked for a good time to come install a new one.
The problem was fixed quickly, pleasantly and professionally. Everybody has problems, these folks fix them the right way.
