AC wasn't cooling like it should.  They sent Nick out to check it and he told me the compressor was getting weak, the system was undersized for my house and I needed to replace the system.  Made me a GREAT deal with 0% interest for 72 months, told me the savings I would see in my electric bill would more than make the monthly payments.  After several calls verifying the 0% interest for the 72 month period I decided to install the new system. Come to find out later Nick was a SALES person not a SERVICE person.  From the first day after the new system was installed I had problems with it working correctly.  Long story short, after several visits over a 4-5 week period and a big water stain on my ceiling it was found the systems drain pan was installed incorrectly causing the system to turn on and off constantintly.  THEN the credit card bill came.  The bill showed nothing about 0% interest and after calling the CC company found Consolidated coded it incorrectly.  FINALLY after several phone calls they assured me it had been corrected.  The next months bill came and once again it was incorrect showing 0% interest for 24 months.  After several more calls I was told that was the best they could do because the credit card company had changed it's terms and didn't offer the 72 months 0%.  About 7 months later I had to call them back out to work on the system because it stopped cooling.  They found the freon lines were not welded properly and were leaking.  Just one thing after another.  Strongly suggest staying away from this company!!!!!

They looked at both my AC units, saying they both had a leak. They immediately tried to sell me new air conditioners for almost 12,000. They called me trying to give me a discount only available this weekend. It seemed they were only there to make a sale and not actually fix what was going on. I will not be using them.

"This install was done on 8/29/2012. if you were to go to sears or another store and buy something and then go back almost a month later and say I have this coupon I want to get this money back, are they going to give it to you? No, all coupons must be present at time of purchase as it states on the magnet. Please do not come on here and make us look bad for something that was clearly your fault. I am not pointing fingers here, but just merely stating who is in the wrong. So basically because we would honor the magnet a month later, you give us these ratings when there has been no problems with the Install, this is totally unfair to us. Overall F Price C Quality C Responsiveness D Punctuality F Professionalism C Lets be honest here and say it like it is, you came on here yesterday after calling my office and finding out that you could not get your $300.00 back and posted this nasty post about my company all because you forgot to hand Ben the magnet when you bought the system. (Review Date: September 26, 2012) The origional price of the system you purchased should have been about $800.00 more then what you paid, as a result of that you were on the receiving end of a great deal and that is why we installed it for you. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at the office and we can discuss it. Keith Hartley Consolidated Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc."

I don't recommend them for anybody. They try to scare people into buying more expensive air conditioners by telling them they have mold in the house. They go into extreme lengthly detail about how dangerous your unit is and all of the environmental problems. Stay clear of these people.

"Member This is Keith I am the owner of Consolidated Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. I have in my computer system that your call was never ran. Here is the post that is my system. (--40 POINT COMP. MAINT.- $39.95 - TH (JERRY) 3/19/10 NEEDS AROUND 2PM TRL MAIL BOX FULL COULDN'T CONFIRM TH 03/17/10 CONFIRMED ON 03/18/10 TH NOBODY HOME @ 2:10 If you have any invoices that we were to your house and actually did a maintenance, then by all means please call me so I can get a copy of that and find out who was paid for this. According to our records we have never done a maintenance at your residence. So I would have no idea why you would come on here and badger us like this, we are an honest company and do not force anyone to buy anything. If you have mold in your system, well thats pretty common here in Florida, 40 to 50 percent of the homes here in Florida have it. This is where the Ultra Violet lights come into play. They do work, and yes they are benificial to have in them homes. If you find an invoice with our name on it, I would be very curious to see it, because like I said I have none in a file for you. So please call me at 941-366-4461 if you find one. Keith Hartley Consolidated Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc."

was told I won a free maintenance at a home show. When they came out to do it, they determined that my unit was too old & there was so much mold & in such bad shape that I would need a whole new  ac unit at a cost of $4000.I contacted the company that put in the unit 7 years ago & they came out the next day & inspected it & said aside from some buildup of dirt on the motor (which my husband can remove) the whole unit was fine. Said the only way to tell if there was any mold would be to send it to a laboratory.

$3,500
I spent $3,500 for the job. It was an emergency situation. My tenant was without air conditioner and it was very hot there. It was a hurry-up deal; I did not have a lot of companies to call. I called three companies. The first company could not get there on time. When I called the second company, I did not like the sound of them on the phone. I found this company on Angie’s List. They quoted me $4,500 for a new air conditioner. They replaced it immediately, which was great. My tenant called me at 9:00 p.m. (her time in Florida; I do not reside in Florida, though). They went over immediately and fixed the problem. My tenant was comfortable with them. They put in a temporary unit for her, so that she would not be without air conditioning. Since, I could not afford $4,500, they put in a used one, for which they charged me $3,500. Based on the information that they had given me over the phone (there was no signed contract), they were supposed to replace the pad, replace the switch and the switching box; etc. However, when they completed the job, I found that they did not get the permit to do so (which they were supposed to); they did not replace the pad; they did not replace the switching box; and they did not give me any refund from $3,500 for not doing the jobs promised. I had a very negative experience with them. They refused to talk further on the subject. They just told me that it was just included in the price. I told them that I could call three other companies and find out how much each of those things would cost me individually. I actually did that and asked them for the refund. Also, they did not remove the air conditioner that they had replaced. They just left it in the back yard; they were supposed to remove it. I had to pay to have it moved. I found out later from another company that I could have had the same deal for $2,000. Since the unit is under warranty for a year, I would use this company for warranty purpose alone. Otherwise, I will never use them again.
