The installers finally showed up between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. They stated that They had been instructed to do another install that morning. Anyway, the guys were totally unprofessional., They talked very loudly and blasted their radio. They were very careless, rubbing the carpet backing against our brand new entertainment center, rubbing off some of the paint. No apologies, just a comment about how easy it would be to touch up. Other issues included cutting the carpet on our driveway, leaving a huge mess of carpet threads, a job which took about an hour to vacuum. At another point, when I went into check on them, I found the assistant laying on his back in the closet, perhaps trying to sleep. He seemed embarrassed. The guys were not finished till about 7:00 pm,even though they had told us that the job would take only a few hours.
When I called the store to complain, although the sales associate was apologetic, the manager was less than satisfactory. He originally offered no compensation, even though I asked him to discuss my concerns with the corporate officers. Anyway, after a few days and
much back and forth, he finally offered to send us a hotel certificate and to reduce the balance by $50. I also requested that they send me a receipt for payment as well as a receipt from Habitat for Humanity for our lightly used carpeting. Even this was botched, as it took over a month to receive the voucher and receipt for,the carpet donation. The paid receipt was never received.
Overall, this was a terrible experience. We have had many carpet installations over the years, and this was,by far, our worst experience.
