The contract and $5,000 deposit was done on 2/9/13. The installation was done in mid-March. Mr. McMurray attributed the delay to the city approving the permit. The installation appears to be done well and professionally. The day after the installation there was a leak from the connection pipes and he responded quickly to repair this. The heater seems to work well and the installation appears OK although by mid-March when the pool heater was installed it was warm enough that the pool heater was really not required. The adequacy ot the installation will be tested this winter when the pool heater will be needed.
The pool cover according to the contract was supposed to be placed at the time of the installation. It was not placed on the pool until mid-April.
The pool reel was never installed. I eventually had to get a lawyer to contact him and finally in early June received a $442 payment from him for the pool reel. The charge for the pool reel was actually $542.000 but he charged $100.00 for the service the day after the installation of the heater when the pipes leaked. I was happy to be done with him and didn't dispute his unfair charge.
I went to Leslie's Pool Service in Venice and purchased a pool reel for $189.00 that I installed myself and seems to work well.
In sum, this is a mixed review. Mr. McMurray was very unresponsive, and I required legal assistance to end my involvement with him.
