2025 REVIEWER TL;DR: I was a paid member of this company’s premium maintenance and repair program for multiple years. In spite of this, they chose to mislead me and to stand by shoddy work, work which amounted to other professionals as remarkably overpriced - as well as unacceptable and condemnable. You should strongly ask yourself before hiring AC Today: how would they end up treating you and your property? On 30 December 2024, I contracted AC Today to execute a rerunning of my AC condensate line. This was marketed to me as a relatively simple thing to do. At the time, due to other work ongoing, half of the drywall in question was already removed, the other half able to be quite easily removed with minimal effort - which was verbally remarked on at the site during the pitch for this job. This job was scheduled to occur before the other remediation and restoration concluded explicitly because of the opportunity to complete the condensate line replacement while the wall was meant to be out. It was agreed by myself and AC Today that the job would occur anywhere from 1 PM to 5 PM the day of. Day of, I was awoken before 9a by calls and voicemails from the office manager letting me know their technician had been waiting outside of my property for 20 minutes. It was clear there was poor communication on their part, and further clear that the office had taken poor records of what was agreed upon with me as their client. It was apparent to me said employee had a different understanding of what was going to occur at this job than what I had discussed in person with the estimator who came out prior. Instead of starting to remove any of the still-existing drywall, he began moving to clear the cabinets by the sink, ostensibly to route a line there. I texted immediately to the estimator and office manager, expressing concerns. I was gaslit into believing I was in the wrong and this route for the line through the cabinets was what was agreed upon, which was false. In their effort to take self-serving shortcuts and to not have to deal with the drywall, this line was put out through the cabinets, permanently damaging those cabinets and reducing my limited kitchen storage space. Before leaving with barely a word, the technician did not even bother to attempt to clean out the sawdust, concrete residue, and other mess from the work. Within the ensuing weeks of this job, I had other contractors in for other aspects of my renovation. Every single contractor who came through my door and saw the work through the still-open wall referred to it with some combination of “lazy,” “slipshod,” “liability-producing” (in the eventuality that the repair fails due to improper use of materials), and other condemning remarks and prognoses of ranging severity. I even hired another HVAC specialist to come out who, upon seeing the line, gasped, chuckled with exasperation, and informed me I had been “scammed badly” (their word proffered, not elicited). AC Today circled the wagons from the get-go, further gaslighting me that they were the AC specialists and knew what they were doing. I’m not even sure whether they had seen the work when they started defending it. I attempted, unsuccessfully despite multiple attempts via numerous avenues, to speak to the owner-operator directly after hitting these roadblocks to see what he would comment on his company’s behalf. He brushed me off and ignored my requests for a conversation, thereby exhausting his last possible opportunity to make this right before I published this review. This seems to be in keeping with how this company will treat customers who have an issue with their subpar work. As oft is the case, trouble stems from the leadership. If you decide to employ AC Today, I wish you luck, but I caution: you may be inviting condemnable work and immense time and frustration attempting to correct that work, all with no help from the people you trusted to maintain your expensive and necessary HVAC.

This company is terrible! The story is too long to go into the unprofessional treatment we received when getting our Trane unit installed in 2016. Right off the bat the WiFi control panel “was causing our issues” and taken out, being replaced with a non WiFi unit with no money back. By 2017 they were already saying we probably needed a start assist put on. And nearly every single year since we have to call them for some sort of issue. We have been nickel and dimed to death with what seems to be very temporary fixes on a unit we spent almost 10 grand on only 7 years ago. Their own techs have told us “they installed duct work incorrectly” and that “the air handler should never have been placed where it was”. Replaced capacitor in July and it never fixed the problem and they don’t seem to care that they wasted our money. Sitting here after spending $9000 in 2016 on a new top of the line unit with a portable ac to survive. Do not waste your hard earned money on AC Today!

AC Today is the worst ac experience Ive ever had. They did our "maintenance" on Friday, Sept 8. Said "all good! See ya in 6 months!" Sunday, Sept 10 our ac died. They said its catastrophic failure and they cant fix it until Thur, Sept 21 or so, and it will be $800 minimum. We bought a portable ac as they offer nothing for assistance. "10 year warranty" and "worry-free living" is what they advertise. Lies. We had another company come today, Thur, Sept 14. $297 and not only is it fixed, that covered a year of maintenance service too! All that was wrong was a Schrader valve was bad and leaking... wed lost a lil under a pound of coolant and needed a new valve. Weve been without ac for days... fixed in under an hour... and to top it all off, one of the staff at AC Today has been nothing but rude. Even to my 73 year old mother who is/was also a customer of theirs. I want my maintenance money refunded and so does my mother.

Do NOT use this company, They are only interested in selling you a service plan or new AC. I like like everyone else on here that I was doing my homework and picked AC Today for its excellent google reviews. You can't believe what you read. Now don't get me wrong, the service guy was nice and friendly, but completely missed on the diagnosis. He told me it would be $1500 -$2000 to fix a thermal expansion valve and continued to tell me that would be crazy for my 10 yr old AC and I should buy a new one for $8000. This seems crazy to me, so I did some more home work and my air handler dose not even have a Thermal Expansion Valve! My has a piston system, that he would have know had he even looked, they are very different but function in the same way. So that was strike number one. Now for the reason I am writing this review, I don't right reviews. The service guy had the gall to call me the next day and and tell me that he had looking into my system and that the part had been discontinued. He preceded to tell me that they offer two year zero interest financing and that I should apply because my AC would start icing up soon and die and with no way to fix it buying a new system was inevitable. Now All this sounds like a high pressure sales tactic to me. Guess what, I googled the model number of my air handler and I found the part to fix it at the manufactures parts house for $4.95. It was the first listing that come up. Had he even looked he would have know the part is readily available for less than $5. AC Today service tech flat out lied to me in an attempt to sell a new unit. So this is my attempt to warn everyone else to stay away from these unscrupulous people.

A/C check was thorough for unit and condenser and found to be clean. The grill and duct vents were checked and a great deal of microbial growth was found. A thorough grill and duct cleaning was recommended and was scheduled.

Dale arrived on call after hours the first day & did a temporary fix so we could have cool air overnight. He returned the next day a few minutes early and replaced the "burnt" (lightning strike) circuit board. Dale was professional, friendly, & worked quickly. I definitely recommend AC Today!
