301 MOWER SHOP

This was absurd.  I dropped the lawnmower off on a Thursday, gave a required $25 deposit and asked for an estimate prior to the work being done.  I was told that the work would be done in a week.  I called in a week and was told that the small mowers would be worked on Fri and Sat and mine would most likely be ready early the following week.  It was not.  I received a call on Thur of that week with an estimate of between $75 and $95 and I told them to go ahead with the repairs.  Since I had not heard back, I called on (the 3rd) Thur and asked if the mower was ready for pick up.  I was told that the paperwork was on someone's desk and that she would call me back.  That didn't happen.  I finally reached the person responsible for the paperwork on the following Monday and the mower was finally ready for pick up.  I received an invoice for parts and time spent with no explanation as to what service had been performed.  (In addition to the repair charge I also paid $50 for lawnmowing while my mower was being serviced for 3+ weeks!)
There is a sign outside the shop that says mowers not claimed in 30 days would be charged a fee.  I can only assume that I had been charged for storage from day one.   Find somewhere else to repair your mower if you want it back anytime soon...

301 Mower rebuilt the carburetor and sharpened the blade on my chipper/shredder.  I waited a week before they could look at the machine which is understandable for a busy operation.  Upon checking the machine, they gave me an estimate to fix it which was accurate (and included the ten percent Angie's discount), and they ultimately fixed the machine although it took another three weeks to accomplish the work because (1)the tech who was to sharpen the blade quit and (2)the blade grinder broke. What frustrated me was that I had to call them as week after week went by to drag out this information, and I definitely felt that I was being lost in the shuffle. I finally lost my temper after which the tone changed and they called me to inform me of the progress of the work which I thought was the professional thing to do given the time that had gone by. All in all, I am satisfied with the work, but I hope they will improve their communication.

We moved here from Texas recently, and couldn't get the mower started, even though it had a tune up last year. They got it going at a reasonable price, and were very friendly and professional.

Overall ended up being a good experience where they made sure I was satisfied.

Picked up when they said they would, repaired the generator within a few days and brought it back.

It went fine---I was satisfied and I would recommend them==it's hard to find a good small gas engine shop

I would never put a used tire on my car, but they told me that it would be an economical solution for a lawn mower. I can only hope that they are right and it lasts long enough to make it economical and not a waste of money. Anything used is always a gamble. I felt comfortable with their advice and appreciated their effort to save me money.
