.Approximately 4 hours after the repairman left the unit stopped cooling and continued to run without lowering the room temperature as it had done prior to the so called repair..  Because it was after business hours we waited until the next morning to contact the company to ask that someone come back out because the unit was not fixed.  The company owner called back and spoke with my husband and said that  they were not going to send anyone to our home because it was too far.  He said we had used other service providers to service the unit, which was totally untrue and he would not come provide the service for which we had already paid. He accepted no responsibility for the unit not being repaired. We contacted another service provider who did come and repair the unit.  He said that the unit was totally void of coolant and there was a large leak which was very obvious when he opened the unit.  Any coolant the previous repairman had put into the unit had leaked out in a very short period of time because he did not repair the leak which explained the unit operating properly for such a short period of time.

I contacted Beachside after receiving a quote from another contractor. The quote did not contain the discounts I had been promised. I was under the gun to have the work completed in the next week and became a little frantic. I contacted Jeff on a Thursday evening. We had a long phone conversation as he listened to my needs and concerns. He agreed to meet me Friday afternoon. Jeff looked over the current equipment and the quote I had been given from someone else. We discussed the quality of the system quoted and a comparable model he carried, as well as upgrading to a Carrier system.
I never felt pressured from Jeff, and instead felt like he was being completely honest with me. I decided to go with the upgrade to the Carrier system.
His technicians were outstanding! The day was hot, the second story of my house was very hot as it had not had functioning AC for a few weeks. The technicians worked without stopping (8 hours or longer). They were very conscientious, using drop cloths in the house, taking their shoes off before entering the house and cleaning everything up when they finished.
As for the equipment, I am extremely satisfied. The units are very quiet and energy efficient.
If I had to use one word to describe Beachside, it would be and quot;professional.and quot;

They are punctual and get the job done right the first time. They are reasonably priced.

The existing heat pump was 16 years old and on its last legs and we had already decided last year to replace it, a decision which was reinforced during the colder-than-normal winter we experienced this year. We researched Angie's List for potential contractors and selected several HVAC contractors in the area who had good ratings and from whom we might request estimates. While Beachside did not have any ratings at the time, we decided to include them because they had given us great emergency service when others failed during the summer of 2008. After initial phone contact, we reduced the list to three contractors including Beachside from whom we requested quotations. One contractor dropped out when he saw the site and the scope of the job so we ended up with quotes from Beachside, a locally owned and operated business, and a local franchise of one of the nation's largest HVAC providers. Beachside's quoted price was the more competitive of the two and they matched the other company's extras so based on our previous experience with Beachside the decision was an easy one. The two-man installation team arrived at the agreed date and time and quickly got to work. They worked diligently and completed all the work in one day with the exception of the shroud installation since it could only be custom made after the unit was in place. One of the two owners visited during the installation to ensure all was well and to answer any questions we had. There was only one small glitch in the whole process. The original thermostat sourced for the installation was not capable of handling all the functions of the heat pump. This was only a minor annoyance as the air conditioner would still work and the proper one was installed when they returned to install the custom-made protective shroud a few days later. All in all, our experience with Beachside Air Conditioning has been extremely positive. Their responsiveness, attention to detail, and sincere approach to pleasing the customer are noteworthy. My expectations were high and Beachside exceeded them. I would highly recommend Beachside Air Conditioning to anyone in this area needing high quality HVAC work for a fair price.
