Spring King Garage Doors

Richard overcharged by a large margin. He did not provide an estimate, an invoice, or a receipt. He only took a personal check made out to his name, not the company name. He did not provide warranty information. Very poor business practices.

Well, Richard was very ambitious in getting me a service asap. I was not ready to get the door repaired that day, but he was very persistent. I felt like he was very honest about the work that needed to be done and he showed me the areas of concern. However, he overcharges for everything. I was overcharged for the springs by $130. He wanted to install an opener the same day and was charging $594 for the same one I ended up getting installed for $350. Overall, I feel very cheated and would not recommend him due to that. I ended up using Armstrong and they were on time and priced correctly the first time.

He arrived with an hour of the initial call. He was thorough and clear in explaining what he was going to fix the problem. He replaced the spring on the garage door with a better quality, heavy duty spring. He reattached our opener to the door where it had pulled away. He also volunteered to fix the crack in our door. He did a great job and left our garage spotless from the work that was done. I'd like to mention that the crack he volunteered to fix really was above and beyond what we had called him out to do. He did an excellent job and the crack is virtually unseeable. We really appreciate the extra effort a his part to do such a great job. We would highly recommend him.

Replaced rh and lh garage door return springs. Responded quickly, showed up when he said he would and completed the job within an hour. Thought he was priced a little higher than others, but he has done work for me before and I have always been happy.

Spring replacement, roller wheels, and adjustment.

It went excellent. He was very informed and courteous.

My Garage door spring broke on Christmas Day 2009. I called Richard at The Spring King at 9:30AM and HE WAS HERE BEFORE 10:30AM!! I have a 125 mi/hr hurricane super heavy 2-car door with two springs that carry much extra weight. He had all of the parts needed. I do not know if the cost is reasonable because he was the only one to answer my calls so I have no other quotes to compare. $149 per spring, $89 installation, $40 per heavy metal replacement bearing (the original were plastic). He knew exactly what to do and he was finished by 11:30!! Only slight issue was that he only partially tested the door prior to leaving so I had to adjust the electric opener settings myself to account for the new spring tension strength.
