"Ms [Member Name Removed] neglects to mention that her 15 year old generator had been neglected for 14 years when she first called us for an emergency visit during Hurricane Irma. We got her generator running DURING the hurricane, but it subsequently required several hundred dollars in repairs to restore it to good operating condition. Recently she called complaining that her generator was not working and that her plumber had diagnosed a battery issue. I explained that the battery is covered under a 1 year warranty, but the cost of a diagnostic visit would only be covered if it were a warranty issue. Ms [Member Name Removed] did not want to risk the cost of a real diagnostic visit, so we offered free telephone support. During the telephone conversation, she became hysterical, yelling that her plumber’s diagnosis was correct and she was calling her lawyer. Our reputation speaks for itself when it comes to customer care. But when a customer whom we are trying to help threatens litigation, it is time to refer her to another generator company, which we did."
"While on site I observed this homeowner's interaction with a general contractor and an electrician. The homeowner was looking to pin blame, and demand compensation for some electronics failures inside his home. There was a hint of litigation in the exchange. Some customers are better left for others. And this homeowner is one of them. We simply did not want to become one of his targets, so we politely referred him to another generator company."

Generator battery exploded when our power went out during hurricane Matthew and generator tried to start. Called my current and now previous service provider and was told "things happen" and that if the battery exploded it was something much more than the battery.
Terminated agreement with said company and called Genstar. They were extremely busy after the hurricane and I truly expected them not to come out for several days since I was never a customer of Genstar. Called Saturday morning and they were out Saturday afternoon and even called to let me know they were on the way.
When the tech arrived, he checked the generator from one end to the other and replaced battery. After checking connections, tech started the generator and it's working correctly. This type of service is lacking in almost every area, but it was refreshing to come upon a company like Genstar that puts the customer first. Thanks so much!

In my opinion, this team is the absolute Best you can ask for and they are highly recommended by me. I recently recommended them to a gentleman with a terminal illness that needed quick installation. He told me this was done as quickly as it possibly could be done with electrical installation by another firm and inspections by the Fire Dept., etc. He could not thank me enough for this recommendation and I am pleased that his last days were filled with Peace of mind that he had what he needed and that Genstar was there to support him if needed.

Everything went great - the owner, Lance, came out to evaluate our home generator. After looking at generator and doing a lot of maintenance and putting in battery, Lance tells us that generator may be 10 years old, but is essentially brand new and has never been started until Lance started it. So obviously Lance was very honest, because he did not try to sell us anything and only tuned up our generator and set it up to run for 10 minutes every Wednesday afternoon to keep it charged. Lance explained everything to us about how our generator works and what appliances and electrical outlets it supports. This is a whole house generator that Lance explained now sells for about $10,000 !
