DESIGNING WOMEN LANDSCAPING

I previously submitted a report on this company after they relandscaped my entire 1 acre Lot. When the job was completed I was very pleased; however, a year has now gone by and it has become apparent that a lot of the plant selections that their designer chose did not meet my criteria. Those criteria included using appropriate plants for the circumstances, using plants that were supposed to grow only to fill their alloted spaces (i.e., not too close together or too far apart when mature), using plants in an enclosed pool area that did not "shed" or drop debris, and using plants that do not freeze in the winter or die from heat in the summer. When the job was completed, it looked great. However, all the plants were small and right out of the nursery, it was spring, and they had not experienced either a hot summer or a cold winter. I was not familiar with many of the plants that the company's designer selected, and it turned out after the fact that a lot of them did not meet my criteria. Many of the plants grew a lot faster than they were supposed to, became overgrown and had to be pared down in number or removed entirely. A bunch of them died from heat in the summer, even though they got the proper irrigation, because they needed to have been placed in the shade and instead were placed in full sun areas. Later, a bunch of them froze in the winter and died. A couple dozen plants placed inside the pool enclosure were also damaged by the cold, leaving dried stalks falling all over the pool deck. All in all, about 20% of the plants they installed were wrong for the locations they were placed in, and specifically violated the criteria I had specified when the job was started. I was very disappointed, and incurred a lot of additional expense replacing many of these plants after the "warranty" that came with the job had expired. While I was satisfied with the work they did at the time, I was ultimately NOT satisfied with their plant selections. Thus, I have re-graded them several grades lower than the "A's" I gave them in my initial report. After this experience I would not use them again.

They cut out into my driveway and made a big circular area of pavers for my patio. It looks beautiful. They put a paver edge along the beds along the drive and put in a rock retaining wall. I would highly recommend them.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD AS FAR AS THE DESIGNING OF IT ALL AHEAD OF TIME. WHEN THEY PLANTED THE PLANTS THEY WERE TOO CLOSE, SO THEY HAD TO COME BACK AND REARRANGE THE PROBLEM AREAS.

THE PARTICULAR PLAN WE LIKED VERY MUCH. THE FINAL RESULTS WERE VERY GOOD. THE PERSON WE WORKED WITH WAS NOT VERY PUNCTUAL AND NOT VERY GOOD ABOUT FIXING WHAT HE NEEDED TO. ACTUALLY IT WAS A LADY. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AS FAR AS THE COMPANY WAS CONCERNED. SHE WAS ONE OF THEIR WEAKER LANDSCAPERS.
