MY SISTER AND I USED THE PACKAGING STORE TO PACK AND SHIP CERTAIN VALUABLE POSSESSIONS AFTER OUR FATHER DIED. THE ITEMS THAT WERE OF PRIMARY IMPORTANCE WERE ROOM BOXES, MINIATURE DOLL HOUSES. THESE WERE DELICATE ITEMS WITH HANDMADE FURNITURE AND DECORATIONS IN EACH ROOM. IN ADDITION, I SHIPPED AN EXTENSIVE RECORD COLLECTION, STEREO EQUIPMENT, PICTURES AND FILES, AMONG OTHER THINGS. BEN ESTIMATED THAT MY BOXES WEIGHED LESS THAN 400 LBS. AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE LESS THAN A WEEK TO DELIVER. THE PACKING AND SHIPPING OF MY BOXES TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY, IN THAT: BEN UNDERESTIMATED THE WEIGHT OF MY BOXES BY 100%. THE BOXES WEIGHED 780 LBS. THE BOXES WERE DELIVERED TWO WEEKS AFTER THEY WERE SHIPPED. THE 780 LBS (10 HUGE AND HEAVY BOXES STACKED ON TWO PALLETS THAT WERE OVER 9 FEET TALL) WERE DELIVERED TO THE WALKWAY IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE, NOT TO MY DOOR, OR INSIDE. THE CONTENTS OF TWO OF THE ROOM BOXES WERE DAMAGED. BEN TONG REFUSED TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY.
Description of Work: ESTIMATED, PACKED AND SHIPPED SOME DELICATE AND SOME HEAVY BOXES FROM FLORIDA, TO ILLINOIS AND TEXAS.

Initial estimates of weigh is based on what was shown to me when I first met them. While I was packing on site for over 3 hours, the member kept adding more items. Her record collection was not shown to me initially. I told her that the shipping cost is based on packed weigh of 400 LBS, and that extra weight will cost more, BTW she initialed the note on the contract. I didn't charge any extra for packing that extra weight! The shipment arrived on time. She didn't make the appointment for a week later. I told her and it is noted that it will be curbside delivery only. The rooms that were damaged was damage due to the pieces inside the room NOT GLUED DOWN. I told them that I was not going to touch anything inside and they agreed. With regard to the pallets being 9 feet tall, that is not true. It wouldn't fit into a 8 foot high truck! It was only 90" high. BTW I only charge her the minimum for shipping the extra weigh, had I wanted to I could have double the cost of the freight part! I'm sorry she feels this way, I did what we agreed to do and she received everything with NO DAMAGE NOTED ON THE OUTSIDE Of THE SHIPMENT at time of delivery, this is standard procedure in the industry.
