"As in all things there are two sides to every story. I have been a contractor for 26 years and have a long list of happy, satisfied clients. Unfortunately, [Removed member name] is clearly not one of them, in spite of my efforts to meet her needs. I worked and reworked her initial estimate to meet her budgetary needs. Each time she would make another change or cut another item. At her requests I revisited the estimate 16 times to finally meet her satisfaction. After all that she decided to go with another contractor and I didn’t hear from her until months later when she contacted me. She was dissatisfied with that contractor whom she said was abusive and she fired him, saying she had made a mistake and should have hired me to begin with. I accepted the job and she again revisited the contract and we cut $33,000 from the project. The budget was itemized and very clear cut, as are all my contracts. As work proceeded she started adding items back into the project that I had spent all the time in the estimating stage cutting at her request. She always insisted that she wanted it even after I reminded her each time that it was adding expense back into the project. [Removed member name] then began to delay the project with indecision re: choices of fixtures, bathroom layout, the location of the Kitchen Island, etc. She kicked a plumber off the jobsite because he went home at 5pm. She resorted to name calling in her conversations with me. While I am still trying to work with her to complete this project I have recently learned that she is suing the other contractor. I guess after 26 years I should be grateful that my other clients have been excellent, cooperative and appreciative."
