Movers were professional and had all the equipment needed. They took special care of the glass shelves in my curio cabinet and china cabinet.

Arrived at time requested, Loaded, delivered, and unloaded in less than 6 hours. 3 guys worked very hard. only problem was could not get everything loaded, ran out of room. I saw it coming , and made sure they got the rest of the large items. I took care of the balance.

They were very professional. they were also very personable. I had a few pieces that did not fit in the new home and they took it to consignment. received a call from consignment a few days later to go over the prices. everything went smooth. would definitely use again...though I don't plan to move again BUT I would recommend them highly to anyone who asks.

George the owner gave me an estimate over the phone. They were very knowledgeable and detailed. They're a family owned business. They were accommodating with scheduling. Moe and Carl, the movers were very fast and I couldn't believe how quick they got everything done. From the time they started until the end, it was about 2.5 hours. They even helped me move a treadmill to a consignment shop, which George's wife Sherry runs. I really liked that they used a vertical clothing rack which was very efficient and made everything easier. They facilitated my move and made it easier. They don't have any temps and all the workers have been in the business for a while.

We completed an online inventory of furniture and furnishings to get an estimate of what the cost would be for the move. Charlie called the next day and provided information on the company and the specifics for our situation. He confirmed the estimate with an e-mail form and called to confirm two days prior to the move to ensure that everything was go for the agreed upon day. On the move day Kirk and Randall arrived on time, professionally attired and began the loading. They worked at a fast pace and were careful with everything that was loaded. Upon arrival at the new address they unloaded and placed the items where my wife directed them. We were caught in a torrential rain for about fifteen minutes when nothing could be moved and that time was deducted from the total time of the move. There was no damage to anything that was handled. The total paid was less than what had been estimated and we were pleased with the way the move was completed.

The moving service was back in August. The cost of service was $850. They moved everything in our house to a storage bin. Very good!!

The gentleman we were in contact with at Short Moves was extremely professional, courteous, understanding & without changing the agreed price had 2 men willing to move us on Easter Sunday (of all days).

The movers arrived on time, as promised. It went downhill from there.
There were three individuals doing the work. One young man never took his ear phones out so as I requested items to be placed in particular rooms, he didn't hear me.
One gentleman was very pleasant and hard working.
The 'supervisor' had a difficult attitude. I didn't like the fact that he was smoking inside the truck, giving my items the distinct smell of smoke. When I asked him why he and his crew were removing furniture padding while items were still in storage and then moving them on metal dollies he became disgruntled. I had many, many items scratched during this move because of padding being removed. Metal porch furniture benches had the padding removed and the they were stacked to be carried. There were multiple scratches on them after that.
Then there were the "bins" they used to put 'loose' items into rather than carrying them individually. I had antique small tables and benches literally thrown into these bins along with various other items. The end result...scratches.
I completed a survey postcard that was left for me with comments as stated above. The company never even responded.
Although I hired this company because of the excellent reviews on Angie's List I am terribly disappointed. I would NEVER recommend them again.

"Short Moves Inc. has maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau for many, many years, and we have won the super service award from Angie's List for the last three years. One of the many reasons for this is we do not ignore customer complaints. We were not aware of this complaint until it was posted on Angie's List, we did not receive anything in the mail. This customer made no effort to contact us by phone and ignored my call. I left a message on her recorder after reviewing her complaint. That said the only thing I can do is get my crew's side of it. We moved the customer's belongings out of storage, the mover that put her in storage did the unusual step by leaving their quilted moving pads on her furniture. We had to remove the pads (that she gladly sold to us) to move her furniture as the pads were falling off, getting underfoot and wrapping around our dolly wheels. The customer at no time during the move voiced concern, nor pointed out any damage to us. However, the customer made it clear approximately every 30 minutes that she expected us to work a fast pace. This was a three man professional crew who felt pushed all day. At their drop off there were approximately 9 people grabbing and moving her belongings besides my crew. To point a finger at us and blame us for 100% of damage is unfair. We are not infallible, we are human, and we are very reasonable. We always give our customer the benefit of the doubt. My driver did admit he had a smoke while unloading and for that I am sorry and that will not happen again. One of the helpers did have one ear bud in one ear (not both) so he thought he could hear. I have taken steps to insure that wont happen again, but I also feel that a hand gesture would have gotten his attention if nothing else as he is a very conscientious and caring worker that I have known for over 15 years. Last but not least we do use what is known in the industry an item called a "speed pack". This is an item that makes moving small items very efficient. These are a tool we use to save our customers money, we've used them for years and this is the first time I've been told we literally threw a customer's items in them. I feel this customer is greatly exaggerating our handling of her small items. All that said I am open minded and open to discussion if the customer would just take the time to call and talk to me as I have had zero communication from this customer. meIt was a mammoth job and they did well not to give up half way. They had to pack a lot of loose stuff in cartons, which they brought with,I appreciated their courtesy and the result was great. I would use them again and recommend them to anybody with great confidence.

Short Moves' Scotty and Allan did a great job moving us to our new home. They were careful with our furniture and moved us quickly and efficiently. They were helpful in placing our furniture and even moved our oversized Queen mattress a second time so we could put on the dust ruffle. They moved the former owners of our new house in the morning, and then picked up our furniture and moved us into the house in the late afternoon. It was a long day for them, but they remained professional and helpful. George, in the main office, was always willing to work with us as our move date changed a couple of times based on a closing date being delayed. Their web site made it easy to determine an approximate cost by allowing us to outline what we wanted moved. On the move day, they were flexible when we added a few things.
Note that we moved only furniture, as we handled all the boxes and smalls ourselves. I would certainly use the company again and will recommend them to friends.

They were great! I called them in the morning and they had a spot for me. They came when they said they would. The estimate they gave me was accurate. They had me give them a list of items and they gave me an approximate time it would take to do the move. It was right on. Nick and Everett did the move for me and they moved some large pieces very carefully. I requested those guys again for my final move. We had a large, glass armour to move that I was very nervous about moving and they took great care of it and did a great job with it. They were super friendly and very nice. They were a lot of fun and light hearted on what was very nice on a stressful day for me.

They did not have very far to go but they did an excellent job. Some of my furniture was heavy but did not cause a problem for them. They were professional, prompt, pleasant to deal with and they knew what they were doing. They also moved my daughter & son in-law which they had a great big load and they did such a great job for them. When I called Angie's List to get some recommendations I remembered this company. I decided to go ahead and use them myself and was happy I did.

They were very good. I told them that we were three floors up but I don’t think they understood the importance of that because there were sharp turns to get downstairs. We were given six hours but it actually took 12. We still have nothing good to say about them. We were charged more than the estimate but we anticipated that. They took excellent care of the furniture, everything arrived on time, and they put everything back together. They really took their time and the quality of their work was excellent.
