I walked in to Salon Pearl on a Saturday morning with flaming red hair...mis-colored at another salon. I had an important family dinner that night and needed my hair returned to a light brown. I didn't have an appointment, but Melissa offered to work me in around her other appointments.
Melissa was very sweet and listened very well. She showed me all the available colors and I chose one. She assured me it would cover the red, and said she would add some ash to the color to make sure the extra warmth of the red didn't come through my new color. After it was processed, she studied the color and suggested add highlights. I agreed with her, and she took the time to add highlights all over. She then blew my hair dry and it looked great!
I am returning to Melissa for my next cut and color. She was very polite, attentive, and clearly wanted to please. She was very understanding and went out of her way to accommodate me with no advance notice. The salon was very clean and parking was easy.
Recently, I went to another stylist because I thought I might save money. Not only was the price the same... but I got a poor consultation and a color that was not at all want I wanted. Additionally, my hair was severely damaged by the poor quality of products that were used on my hair.
This time I went back to Emily and left feeling like a million bucks. Emily uses extremely high quality products, and after getting any kind of color, highlight or lowlights, my hair feels more soft and conditioned than before, and that feeling doesn't go away. During previous visits she has done eyebrow waxing for me, and my brows always look perfect. At another visit she taught me how to use a new type of curling iron and I ended up getting a great style that lasted for days. She did a family members hair for her wedding, and the bride looked flawless.
At Salon Pearl, you can get any kind of cut or color that you want... subtle color, gray coverage, highlights, lowlights, or club color. They can cut and style any kind or length of hair for all races and both sexes. Emily even bought a special set of rollers so she could set my mother-in-laws hair. If you are unsure... just stop by for a visit and take a look at her albums of her actual work on hundreds of people from all walks of life.
Long story short... you cannot go wrong with Emily or Melissa at Salon Pearl.
I went to Emily based on Angie's List and Google reviews, and I must say that the cut was quite good. My experience, however, was not. Emily spent the entire time trying to sell me products, going so far as to stop my cut, walk over to the shelves to select a $14 shampoo, and putting it in my hand so I had to hold it while she finished the cut. Every question she asked elicited a suggestion of what I needed. I felt like I was on a cruise ship, where they try to sell you everything under the sun.
At the end, she took my picture for their and quot;databaseand quot; without asking my permission, asked for my email, and then set up her computer screen so I could post a review as she watched! I would take the 5 start Google reviews under advisement- I am guessing she does the same thing to everyone, putting people in the position of posting a review under a and quot;friendly pressure.and quot;
Going to the salon should be relaxing and enjoyable- it was neither, and while the cut was good I will never set foot in the salon again. VERY disappointing experience.
