Maids, Maintenance, & More

We hired Maids, Maintenance and More to clean our Beach House that we rent out with Air BNB. The promises that were made by Pauline and her staff sounded amazing. Pauline who owns the company kept going on and on about her being a former Magistrate in the courts in the UK, and how this has rubbed off on her business to make it a detailed-orientated operation. So we hired them, and have had about a dozen cleans carried out by them since January, and every single one of them has had issues. 1. We have cameras at the property, and they are in and out in about an hour. Now this is a 3000 sq ft home. For $220, this is terrible, and there is no way a quality job can be done in that time. 2. Most of our guests have complained on checking in about the poor state of the prior clean that was carried out. Food left laying around, showers not cleaned, and worktops not wiped down. 3. On the last clean, we found out that they were not swapping out the blankets on the bed each time, which we INSISTED when we gave them the contract. Can you imagine those poor guests laying around in other people's filth? 4. Wrong size bed linens put on the beds. 5. Failed to put out towels etc. for guests. 6. Failed to put the trash cans out on the curb. The list goes on and on. We fired the company yesterday, as enough was enough, and we asked for all of our original bedding and towels back. When I went to collect all of this, our 12, high-quality beach towels were missing, and the office staff said that they could not find them. I asked the office staff to call the company owner, Pauline, on the phone, which they did. I asked to be allowed to talk to Pauline personally, as we signed up with her in the 1st place. She told her office staff to tell me that she was on vacation, and would not talk to me at this time. STAY AWAY from this operation. Lots of promises but they can not deliver. It's a total waste of money. 1 Star is being over-generous.

The cost is about $75 an hour. If they are more than half an hour off their time as scheduled, they could please give me a call. It is a different crew that shows up every time. You have to tell them how you like several people; you can get a crew of two and you can get a crew of three. It depends on who is on when they try to cluster different locals and times and so forth. So you get different people. You have to tell them what you like every other time because it is not always the same crew. It is not anything bad. Every person who has come to the home has been extremely polite and does ask what you would like done that time. That is important. They ask important questions. They are fairly positive.

We have used them for a number of years. They are pleasant to work with and always available to do jobs as requested.  Their handyman does great work on a variety of tasks (painting, staining, wall repair, simple plumbing etc).  They check on properties weekly and will check as requested.  As maids, they  do a great job. . Their billing practices are sometimes disorganized. The C in professionalism is due to this. Their prices also seem a bit high.  There were a few times they missed problems at our property.
