Outstanding. Cost-conscious, design-savvy, quality product. Went above and beyond. This was a referral from a family member who had a similar amount of work done. Since they began work on my house, they have acquired additional business in my neighborhood. They come with our recommendation, no doubt.
Description of Work: KSI built an addition, a new master bath, a new kitchen, installed stone and tile flooring, and did other remodeling. THe house was essentially stripped to the bones and re-built over the course of 6 months.

They did the work free of cost. They are an excellent company. They provide a lot of services after they have done their sales. They are always on call. If I have problems, they come back right away. I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used KSI Construction a month ago. They made additional repairs to my fireplace. They did masonry work, some carpentry work, and some tile work.

This is the most complete building contractor you could ask for in Northeast Saint Petersburg! Jim is a carpenter with a compulsion for creativity and customer satisfaction. He has a three man team including his father, Earl, and his brick/concrete mason Marcel, another perfectionist from the Canadian Maritimes. These three are supplemented by some great supporting craftsmen who Jim uses regularly as sub-contractors. Plumbers, electricians, roofers, and stucco trades are all top notch and, since he uses the same sub-contractors regularly, he knows they can be trusted to work up to his high standards. We worked with Jim to develop a plan of what we wanted to do with the house. We were able, with his expert assistance, to draw up a design plan that suited our desires and he told us when we were being unrealistic within the budget we established. If we decided to continue and anyway, he kept costs as low as possible and even helped find lower cost alternatives and builder grade materials which were cheaper and often looked just as good. We were able to buy our own materials if we found a bargain or a "must have" accessory or fixture and Jim installed them. He encouraged us to give our input during the building process and we sometimes made changes to the plan as we went along. We did our whole-house makeover in two phases and we were able to live on-site throughout the project, living in the half of the house which was not under construction. This saved us a fortune in housing costs if you consider having to rent or lease another place to live. Jim even installed temporary walls with doors to cut down on dirt and dust in our living area, while still allowing us access to the kitchen appliances. He is outstanding in his craftmanship and attention to detail and has years of experience remodeling "mid century modern", ranch style homes. And, he gives referrences who are just as impressed with his work as we are. He works his magic on the classic bungalows, too. You may have already seen his fine work and not even have known it. He specializes in the archictecture of the neighborhood, after all, he lives in Northeast St Pete and prefers working close to home. He works on word-of-mouth referrals and doesn't advertise, so Angie's List may be the only place you see the name KSI Construction (Kuhnsman and Sons Incorporated). Second floor addition? No problem. You name it and Jim will find the best way to make it happen on your budget. This is truly a "no nightmare" experience. By the time he finished we had developed a relationship that will last. We actually missed him when the job was done! And he still takes our calls!
