Kelly and Mary have been a pleasure to work with. From the first contact to then end of the job they were responsive to all communications. They are able tp visualize from verbal descriptions and are able to do a lot with a little information. They offer suggestions and opinions of solutions both practical and aesthetically. They fully prepared us for the scope and time frame of the work to be completed so that we could plan in well in advance for life interruptions. Throughout the length of the contract they were flexible as the job details changed due to both budgetary and structural limitations. We feel that they offer good value not only for the quality of their work but for their professionalism that made what could have been a very stressful series of projects into something that ran smoothly from start to finish. We plan to work with them again for future projects.

Kitchen Remodel

My girlfriend and I recently moved to shore acres from out of state. We found Kelly via Nextdoor. Kelly redid our suite, was fairly priced, completed in a timely manner and kept us updated daily via text. Most importantly for myself, he did a fantastic job on the suite and kept my girlfriend happy ;) I work in the mortgage industry and have many friends and colleagues with horror stories. With Kelly, i experienced the exact opposite of those stories. Would use again!

My husband and I bought a home in Shore Acres, that needed a little TLC which included completely remodeling two bathrooms. We found Kelly Smoak Construction on NextDoor, and after meeting with Kelly we got a really good vibe. After getting a few other estimates, we decided to go with Kelly Smoak Construction and will note that their estimate was among the lowest. This was our first time doing a remodel, and we really leaned on Mary’s advice for design aspects. I had a few ideas in mind, and Mary brought over several samples at different price points, and we ended up with exactly what we wanted! From demo to completion, the two bathrooms were completed in right around 2 months, which was right on schedule (even with the holidays in-between). Kelly and Mary are communication all-stars and quickly responded to all text messages and phone calls. I would also like to note that we had an unrelated plumbing issue and Kelly and team took care of it, saving us hundreds! As far as price, they work on an allowance model and we came in under budget on one bathroom and only slightly over on the other (we decided to upgrade on the vanity but what they had allowed was spot on). Overall I would highly recommend Kelly Smoak Construction, especially in the Shore Acres/Snell Isle area.

Look no further than Kelly Smoak Construction for your home renovation needs. Kelly and Mary are a husband/wife powerhouse contractor team. They are professional and down-to-earth. They are timely. Mary will assist with design and samples. They are reasonably priced. They will provide you with a weekly update as to what is scheduled. Did I say they are TIMELY?! They renovated our bathroom so efficiently that I could barely keep up with the next decision I needed to make! I think that is the best kind of "problem" to have! We got a second quote from another contractor prior to hiring them, but I'm telling you, there's no need to do that. Give them a call.

We used Smoak Construction for a bathroom remodel and could not be more pleased. We had a history of bad experiences with contractors, so we were skeptical when we started talking to companies about their services. Mary and Kelly Smoak exceeded our expectations. The quality of their work, and the work of the subcontractors, has been excellent. Mary has provided us with timely and detailed communication throughout the project, and everything was started/completed on time. When our original design ideas didn't work out, Mary was quick to suggest alternatives, and the finished bathroom is beautiful. The price for the remodel was in line with others we talked to.

Kelly Smoak and his wife Mary were referred to us by a realtor that we know. Best recommendation ever!! They are extremely professional, reliable and competent. They show up when they say they are going to show up from the beginning of a project until its end. They are extremely enjoyable to even just chat with during the renovations and Mary has fantastic design ideas herself! They give you details and updates at every stage of the project. They even provide you with an itemized quote at the very beginning of the project. The quote was fair, reasonable, and closely matched the final prices, with the only exception being changes we made later in the projects, with updated quotes made available prior to their work. While my husband was the primary point person during all of their work, it was so refreshing having Mary text me frequently to keep me in the loop and make sure we were all on the same page.

I would use Kelly again in a heartbeat. He is professional and his attention to detail is excellent. I am so pleased with all the work he has done for me. He is now my "go to" guy for jobs big and small.
