HARDWOOD FLOORING SPECIALTY CONTRACTORS

They came out and did a great job so far. However they were suppose to come back and install the trim piece to finish out the tracks of our doors and install the flooring in our kitchen. It have been about a week since I last heard from them and they will not return my calls.

Jim came out and gave us a great estimate and provided a time line for getting the job completed. The crew was at our house on the date specified and was completed on time. The guys were very professional and courteous. We love our new floors!

They specialize in hardwood floors. They did a great job. It was clean and looked great.

They were excellent in all categories. I like their craftsmanship, and they did a good work. They were real nice guys.

We purchased our floor thru Flooring America. The installers were great, they measured correctly so we didn't end up with a lot of extra material. The installer was on time, worked carefully so nothing else was damaged. He was very polite, I can't say enough about how good he was. He took extra care to level the floor. The area between the hardwood, and ceramic are clean and smooth. Great job all around.

AMAZING! Having felt very burned by contractors in the past, regarding everything from estimates, project scope, time management, etc, I braced myself for whatever might come. My expectations were surpassed on every level. If every contractor were this professional, Angie's list would not need to exist.
Jim and his small crew arrived on time every day and did a full day's work, every day for a week and a half, including a Saturday. They left their tools and supplies behind each night, so I was never worried they would spend a day or two or three, taking another job/contract, as other contractors have done in the past. They always cleaned up after themselves and kept the house completey liveable throughout the entire project. All other companies we received bids from would have required us to move all of our furniture ourselves, which would have added the cost of hiring movers AND renting storage space for all of our furniture. Jim and his crew have their system down to a science in that they can move/shift around furniture as needed and lay floors in the remaining space. My husband and I were skeptical, but we had no problem living in the house for the week and a half they completed the project - mind you, my husband works from home AND we have three dogs!
It was so refreshing to deal with such a great crew - personable and professional.
It has been a few weeks since the project was completed and we simply CANNOT get over the tranformation the hardwood floors Jim installed have given our house. It has truly gone from "a house" to "our home".
Jim's estimate was completey on point with the other estimates we received BUT his included the moving of our furniture throughout the project, again, saving us the cost of movers and storage...not to mention the blood, sweat and tears!
A+ recommendation! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

IN ORDER TO DO THIS WORK WE HAD TO USE THE SERVICE OF A MOVING COMPANY TO MOVE ALL THE FURNITURE INSIDE OTHER ROOMS IN THE HOUSE .

Jim is a very nice guy as well as his crew. What I liked is that they do all the work" in house "with no subcontractors. He was not at all pushy when he came out and compared to several other's I spoke to, he knew what he was talking about.The crews came out as promised and did everything that we agreed to and actually a little extra work leveling one area of the floor that was badly out of level.They removed all the furniture and after they were done they actually dusted the blinds and then put pads on all the furniture and re-installed it where it was before the work. I had hardwood floors installed earlier by another contractor and the product Jim used 1/2" versus 5/16" was far superior.
I would use Jims company again

HFSC did wonderfull. I couldn't more highly recommend them. I bid the work out to 3 seperate contractors, Jim was the least expensive by nearly $1000. They didnt make a huge mess, got finished about when they said they would be done, and didnt tear up the house by knocking equipment and materials into everything. Jim and his two workers were great in every respect.

went well from start to finish

We had a fantastic experience with Jim and the guys from HSFC. They did a fantastic job installing the new wood flooring in our bedrooms. We had planned to install flooring used in the rest of the house, but we learned that it had been discontinued. No problem. Jim found us several close matches, and you can hardly tell that the flooring isn't the same in the bedrooms. HSFC also pulled out the old closet doors, resized new doors we purchased at Home Depot, and installed them. When the crooked closet opening caused one of the new doors to shut itself, Jim wouldn't leave until he had worked out a customization to make it stay open. I would have these guys back to do work on my house in a heartbeat.

Overall, we had a great experience with HSFC. We were very happy with the quality of the finished job. We only had a couple of issues throughout the whole process. First, due to personal matters, it took Jim a solid week to call back once we left a message accepting his proposal. We had just purchased our house, so we were trying to have the floors refinished prior to moving in. This delay forced us to push back our move in date by a week. While this slow response is probably not a typical scenario, I feel it is important to note. Second, my request was to have all boards with termite damage replaced and I expressed a willingness to cover the cost of any additional materials to do so. I stopped by to check on progress one day, and was told that all repairs and sanding were complete and they were ready to start with the urethane finish the next day. Upon further inspection, there were many areas that were obviously still in need of repair due to the termite damage. I went through and marked about 10-15 boards that still needed to be replaced. I brought this to Jim's attention and he was very courteous and said they would make sure those areas were taken care of (they handled almost all of the problem areas, but there were still three boards that were not taken care of. I didn't force the issue at this point, because I just didn't have the time to have them start over on these areas). They quickly finished up the job and it looked fantastic! Despite these issues, I would recommend Jim and his team. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

The experience was very good dealing with them. The owner was Jim and he gave us a no nonsense report of our floor. He said you live in a swamp and wooden flooring is going to be very difficult, so, we put in a triple barrier and he coated the floor with moisture resistant pad before installing the floor. He just did a phenomenal job.

We were very happy with them. It took 4-5 days for them to finish the work. It looks beautiful. It looks the same as in the period of when the house was built. Their price was very reasonable. They were very good at their work. We have asked them to give us a bid for another project.

Jim Seasor came out to do the estimate, and he was very professional and had great ideas on how to redo the kitchen floor. He was able to schedule the work at a time convenient for us, and they were punctual. All of the workers were professional and worked fast. They came out on weekends during the lacquer phase to accommodate our schedule. Jim took the time to answer any questions or concerns we had during the project. The crew was extremely helpful; they even helped us move furniture, which was more than other companies we spoke with were willing to do. We're thrilled with how nice the floors turned out!

Overall it went fine. The end product looked good, but we had to intervene to make sure it happened that way. Issues: They never came on time/when they said they would which caused a few problems in our schedules. They left rubbish in our garage and we are still seeing cigarette butts near our driveway and in our bushes. The main problem was when they were almost done and installing the bamboo moldings on top of the floors. One of the carpenters had nailed the moldings in and cracked them. When we brought it up to him he tried to talk us out of wanting it replaced. He suggested that we "try to glue it"! We insisted that it be fixed, which caused the job to take an additional 3 days. At another point the same person tried to talk us into not having moldings in one spot and we had to call the owner and insist we get what we originally agreed to. They eventually glued all of the moldings in, which we can only hope will last.

The other company that I contacted would not move the furniture. I would have had to move my furniture somewhere while the job was being done, which would have added to the cost. Jim and his crew moved my furniture to the porch and when they were done they put pads on the feet so they wouldn't scratch the newly finished floor. The estimates were comparable but Jim did more for the money. I really like the floor now.

They did a superb job in all phases, and did an excellent job of cleaning up after the installation. I live in a condo and they took special care not to inconvenience the neighbors in any way. They were extremely pleasant and helpful at all times during the installation. They completed the job on time. I would certainly hire them again.

Jim Seasor and his crew were prompt, efficient, and thoroughly professional. The floor is gorgeous. Jim even badgered the company that was providing the flooring to ship it to St. Petersburg without waiting for a full truck.

Jim Seaser was prompt in arriving to show us samples of hardwood flooring and was very helpful. He listened to what we wanted and was very easy to work with. After we accepted his proposal the next week, he went beyond expectation to schedule our installation before our out-of-town visitors arrived, even willing to come on Saturday. The 2 man installation crew arrived on time and did a great job with the floor. They cleaned everything up and were pretty much finished when they said they would be. We are very happy with them, and plan to hire them again later this year to do the main part of the house.

We had a bathroom flood that went underneath and warped the glue-less hardwood flooring recently installed in our hallway. We needed someone to pull up the old floor and replace an area about 6' x 8' that included SIX doorways and jambs. Jim, the owner, came out quickly to give us an estimate and then was able to add us to the schedule within a few days. The work was done by Deron and his helper Terry and they were great: polite, very skilled and efficient. The replacement work was far superior to the original workmanship done by another company. My home was left spotless. I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

He came within a half an hour of when he said he was going to get there. His price was extremely reasonable, a lot lower than we expected. He cleaned up after himself. He described over the phone what he was going to do and he did just that. We were very pleased and after he was finished could not tell where the repair was made.
