My wife and I purchased a new home in September of 2010 and needed lawn care service. I saw Greenblatt's Lawn Service doing one of our neighbor's lawns, spoke to David (the service owner), and with a handshake agreed to pay Greenblatt's lawn care service $85.00 a month to take care of our lawn. During that time he would mow are lawn 1 a month during the winter months and 2 to 4 times a month during the Summer depending on the weather and his schedule. In this time he also trimmed our hedges for us about 3 times. The service was above average but I did have a few minor complaints like - billed a month ahead for services not yet rendered, varying schedule with lawn being longer than we would like when entertaining guests, and not good at communicating in a timely fashion. None of these were deal breakers for me so the relationship continued. Just recently I was talking to one of my neighbors and he mentioned that he has a real inexpensive guy to lay mulch. Not thinking about to much I called the guy and had him come out to give me an estimate. I got the estimate and he suggested having our regular lawn guy trim the hedges and plants before he laid the mulch. So, my wife contacted Dave and asked if he could get the hedges trimmed within the next week or so. From what my wife said he was very rude and something about "taking money from his pocket" and "how we should have the mulch guy do our lawn because he wasn't." He ended the call with my wife by hanging up on her. So, I decided to call him with the intent of trying to clear things up, have him do the mulching, and continue with the existing relationship. I never got the chance to call him because he happened to be working on my neighbor's lawn the next morning when I was leaving for work. I very calmly approached him and tried to explain that this was a simple misunderstanding. He was very dismissive and suggested that other guy do my lawn. I ended the conversation by expressing that I thought his behavior was very unprofessional. In retrospect, it seems like he was looking for an excuse to terminate the service. I think that is extremely unprofessional after having collected a whole Winters worth of lawn care payments for doing very little.
I will not be recommended Greenblatt's Lawn Service to anyone in the future.
