Floors Today had just opened in our city. There were sale signs outside and inside. We were told the sale was ending that day. We were told we'd have a lifetime guarantee on the floors against chipping, swelling, etc., and could return them to the store if we were unsatisfied. We had a salesperson demonstrate how to install the floors. We went home and began. The wood we had immediately chipped with each attempt. We returned to the store with our other unopened boxes and asked for a refund. They would only refund 2 of our 4 unopened boxes (read the receipt, they said)!. We were told the chipping was due to our error, that they had over 30 year's experience installing and never had chips in their product (the guy who showed us was about 20 years old). When asked about the lifetime guarantee, they told us to contact the company on the box. When we returned 2 days later to talk with the manager, we were surprised that the sale, which was supposed to have ended, was still on going.
Description of Work: We bought Pergo flooring from the store. An in-store demonstration from a near 20 year old supposedly taught us how to put the boards together without chipping them. Unfortunately, when we got home and tried it, using the most gentle tapping still produced chips. The material is cheap, the service is awful. They are misleading in their advertisements and statements. Why wasn't the refund policy posted in a place for us to read it prior to making our purchase? (The policy is typed on the back of the receipt which you receive after you pay). Basically, after you pay, you're stuck with it.
