New water heater installed with instructions to place it to the right of a window in the garage. When a price was requested I was quoted, "It could be as much as $1500 if we need to get an electrician and a permit". We previously had difficulty following an installer charging for a permit and not acquiring one and told the tech that if any work was done and required a permit it was mandatory. Tech never asked how many people lived in the home or said anything about the size of the water heater. We paid $1500. No electrician was utilized although electric was moved by the plumber. No permit was pulled. The unit was installed 3 inches from the drywall on the back of my fireplace in the garage which is out of code for installation of a fireplace barrier. We are also unable to access the gas controls for the gas fireplace for maintenance and emergency shut off. They installed a name brand water heater which was acceptable however it was the cheapest, smallest water heater for them, not to accommodate my family which he was told was 6 when we were all at home (I have 2 in college at the moment and he was told my daughter had graduated and was moving back in. This seemed at first to work when showers were taken at differing parts of the day however there is no way the recovery time is sufficient at over 30 minutes for eve 2 people to shower with hot water. Phoned the company 3 times to get them to move the heater to the right of the window to no avail with promises that the tech would call back. We would have put up with the size however he was specifically told where to put the water heater and that prior to our gas water heater installation the water heater HAD been approved as to placement there and had been in that spot for 27 years. Additionally, there was -0- work to turn reroute the electricity as the box was behind where it had previously been to begin with. Nothing was required to be done with the gas as it was already turned off, only the water rerouted. After 3 calls and no response we are taking this company to small claims court for a full refund and to remove their water heater.

THEY CAME BECAUSE I WAS HAVING A PLUMBING PROBLEM. THEY SAID I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW SEWER LINE. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $1300.00 AND IT WOULD ATTACH TO THE CITY LINE. THEY SAID TO CALL THE CITY IF ANY PROBLEMS. THE CITY CAME AND SAID IT ISN'T LONG ENOUGH, NEED TO GO BACK TO DOLPHIN. I CALLED DOLPHIN AND TOLD HIM IT WASN'T CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE CITY LINE. HE SAID I HAD TO CALL HARRY. I CALLED BOB AT THE OFFICE, AND HE CALLED ME NAMES. HE THREATENED ME. I FILED A REPORT WITH ANGIE'S LIST, AND THEY THREATENED ME WITH PROFANITIES TO TAKE IT OFF ANGIE'S LIST BEFORE HE WOULD COME BACK OUT AND FIX IT. I TOOK THE REPORT OFF AND NOW THEY SAY I HAVE TO PAY THEM $1000.00 TO HAVE THEM COME BACK AND FIX IT. I AM NOT GOING TO HAVE THEM COME BACK. HARRY CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY BOTH TIMES. HE WAS NICE. HARRY HAD RACIAL SLURS THAT I DON'T APPRECIATE.

WE HAVE USED DOLPHIN PLUMBING CONTRACTORS SUCCESSFULLY FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS IN OUR HOME AND CHURCH. WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY HE WAS NOT ADDED TO ANGIE'S LIST SOONER.
