Under Construction Contractors

They repaired water damage in a bedroom and a bathroom. Did a fabulous job in doing a through and complete repair of the two rooms. John the project manager walked my wife I through planning, selecting materials, fixtures and all the countless things we never thought of. The final result is stunning. Beautiful craftsmanship and work. On final walk through I pointed out a couple minor things I noticed that needed attention. Very nitpicking of me. Those couple of items were addressed quickly and better than I expected or asked for. I recommend working with D R J Construction for quality and stunning workmanship.

Duan is Awesome!! He is knowledgeable, patient and friendly. He is detailed in his work and provides additional information. The service was excellent!! Work was completed earlier than planned.

Considering the scope of the project everything went really well. When working with an existing house “surprises” are to be expected and we were pleased with Duan’s ability to think outside the box in providing suggestions for resolving challenges. We also appreciated the aesthetic approach to making the house into a home that we continue to enjoy without regrets nor wishing we had done something differently.

While Duan himself may or may not know anything about construction, I didn't see him do any of the work himself.  He bids the work out to hourly subs, and the overall quality, craftmanship, and attention to detail was poor.  His workers required constant supervision to ensure they weren't taking shortcuts and were doing the work correctly.  While some projects were done well, many were poorly done and had to be fixed or completely done over again after the project was finished. 

Within two months of Duan finishing the remodel, the siding he installed was falling down, the flooring was coming up, and the HVAC system had to be professionally overhauled due to the amount of drywall dust that was trapped in the system from the subs cutting drywall in the garage without even putting the furnace cover on the furnace.  Yes, he supposedly specializes in exterior siding, and we had to re-install most of it because it was actually falling off of the house.  We also had to completely tear up all of the exterior concrete that he poured because it was crumbling - that's what happens when you pour concrete in the snow but don't cover or insulate it afterward. 

I have never seen quality of work as poor as what Duan produced, all the while making promises and statements about how much he knew about construction.  Six months after project completion, we are still finding problems and shortcuts from Duan's terrible work.

For the patio: I think their design is effective, and I appreciated their flexibly. All of their sub-contractors did good work. The project did take a little longer than anticipated, but the price was reasonable.

For the attic: This experience wasn?t as good because of issues with responsiveness and communication. However, I am happy with final results.

Duan and his crew were outstanding! Duan oversaw the project and followed up on all details. I appreciated his professionalism. He even stayed in contact with my neighbor since they were working on the property line between our houses. The crew arrived on time, worked long hours, and completed the job ahead of schedule. They did a great job of cleaning up the project area each day before they left and keeping the "mess" under control. As they dug into the crawlspace and found a few unexpected items that needed to be addressed, they were able to quickly fix those for me, too. It was a joy to have such professionals working on my property and a huge relief to have my foundation problem skillfully repaired.

Duan, is great to work with, knowledgeable, fair, professional, and responsible.

Duan Carnaby, the owner, is very conscientious. He is detail oriented and will do whatever he can to make the job right for you. We used Under Construction for a major remmodeling job in 2002 and were very pleased with Duan and the people he uses. If you are very exacting in your project, this is the company for you.

It was a pretty substantial job. The deck was deteriorating. It's a nice design. They put in a number of nice lighting features. Their service was excellent. The work went very smoothly.

Excellent! I greatly appreciate Duan's attention to details. He is very professional, courteous, and conscientious of his customer's goals. He honored my request to be as cost conscious as possible and only replaced trim that was rotten. If something wasn't done to his or my satisfaction, he had it corrected. Duan is wonderful to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

Would do it again in a heartbeat. Duan made the whole experience as stress and trouble free as could be expected. Very proactive. He built our addition as if he were doing it for himself.

THE PEOPLE THAT THEY CONTRACTED TO DO THE ACTUAL WORK WERE WONDERFUL. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK AND WE WERE VERY PLEASED.

WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FIRM TO AT LEAST PROVIDE A BID. THEY ARE NOT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE BUT THE EXTRA COSTS WERE WELL WORTH THE EXPENSE. THE BUILDER ADDITIONALLY ADDED SOME UPGRADES AT NO COST.

PROMPTNESS IS GREAT, QUICK CALL BACK, SUCH A LARGE COMPANY ALOT OF WORKERS. TOOK LONGER THEN EXPECTED BUT NO BIG DEAL
