First I called on the phone to get someone to give us a quote on 6 sliding glass door at my dads house.  The door locks and handles were corroded from the salt by being directly on the gulf. The doors seem to be opening and closing fine but appeared to be letting some air in also. I wanted a quote and an opinion on what could be done with the doors.
Lizette had me on the phone for more than an hour an hour explaining what they do for sliding glass doors and how I was suppose to watch there videos. What I couldn't imagine that she know what the problem was with these doors without someone coming out and looking. Seems to me that maybe some additional work maybe would be done that didn't need to be. I did however agree to set up an appointment to have them come out.
Two of their employees came out in a timely matter and started working away. One of the employees seemed to be the one in charge while the other was a helper. As they were working I noticed the helper was on his phone a lot texting or something. Not professional. They were there for over 3 hours. There were 4 doors on the outside were bolted in . When they started to do 2 of the doors he put in a silver clip on the top. The doors are black. When I asked he said they need to put the sliver clips on because they were stronger. The doors had a chain and pin on them originally that goes into the door for extra locking protection. After they worked on the doors these pins would not line up anymore. They left the pins and chains in just hanging there. After they left we noticed that in addition to bolting the doors with the clips above they also put in screws on the inside of the  outside doors. These screws did not look right. Imagine sitting on the your couch looking at screws on the side of your doors and wall.
So we called and got the worker to come back out and take the tacky looking screws out of the wall on the inside of the doors and remove the pins and caulk the holes.
The next day my step mother called and said that the doors were not even locking. She had called the worker many times and left numerous messages with no response from him.
I started calling also and left him messages. I call the main office number and explained the big problem of the doors not locking. The person on the other line said they would send someone out in a couple of days. That the guy that worked on the doors was sick.
This was not acceptable. Really not have doors to lock on the house of my elderly parents that live on the beach?
I demanded that someone come out today.
Another worker showed up that day and did an adjustment and got the doors to lock. While there I asked him why we had to have silver clips on the top of the doors when the doors were black. They stick out like a sore thumb. He told me there was really no reason why we could have clips to match the door. So he change them out. Also while inspecting the door I noticed that were the new locks went into the other door this area was very sharp and someone could cut their hand. He smoothed it out. Then looking again I noticed that the dark clips previously put in I saw that a screw was completely put in crooked. He pull the screws out and put the screws in straight.  Also he changed out the handles back to wood handles instead of black ones. Our choice. The black ones were very cheap looking.
I feel that their service is very expensive considering the problems we had.
I was recommended Beacon windows from another sliding glass door company that I had had previously at my townhouse.
Response from Beacon Windows

"Thank you for taking the time to write up such a thorough review. As a company we value doing exceptional work and so having your set of eyes and ears on the job truly helps us. As you could see from our over 50 videos on the subject of sliding glass door refurbishment, we take a strong approach to education for the client's benefit. We apologize if this conversation and suggestion to watch a couple of the brief videos was offensive to you. Most people really enjoy the understanding and thank us for providing the detailed videos. We do apologize that our employee was in the emergency room at the time of your call back to him and was unable to respond to your many calls in a timely fashion. We also apologize for the crooked screws, and for using a stronger but different colored bracket on your door. We also appreciate your letting us know about the texting on the job. We have most definitely addressed this issue with the technician involved and discussed this in detail with the entire team as an example of unprofessional conduct. We talked about the crooked screws with them as well... so that they can better understand how to truly care for the client throughout the entire process. Thanks again for your comments."

I had two sliding glass doors that were very hard to open. The wood around one of the doors got wet after a rain and the interior trim was rotted down near the floor. It was necessary to pull the entire door frame out for one door to find the extent of the leak, Lizette (the representative) estimated $2050 for the job.

The workman arrived right on time. They pulled all the door panels, replaced the weather stripping, put new screws into the frame and cleaned out years of gunk and corrosion from the track. When the leaking door frame was removed, we could see the rot only extended up about an inch from the floor so there was no need to reframe the wall around the door. They reduced the price on the spot to $1500 because of this. The doors seemed to work great and Steve (Lizette's husband) said he would drop by next week to follow up and make sure there were no issues. Steve came by did a bit more caulking and told me to contact them if there were any issues.

The following Saturday it rained and I had some leaks on my kitchen floor. I called the company and they came out and reseated one of the doors and did some additional caulking to fix the problem.

I got an estimate over the phone. Lizette was very thorough and explained how all the sliding glass doors worked and gave a worse case scenario estimate of $1400 for 7 windows to put new wheels, all new railings and weatherstripping and well as adjusting them all to open and close smoothly. 2 workers came on time. They were very friendly and made sure I knew exactly what was going to be done. They looked at the rails, which we weren't sure had to be replaced. They cleaned the rails and did not need to replace them. They could have replaced them and charged me more but were honest about not needing them. 2 more guys showed up. One was the project manager. He wanted to make sure the workers were doing what they said would be done and wanted to make sure I was happy. They did a great job. They even cleaned the glass. They cleaned up after them selves then asked if I was completely happy with the work performed. It is so nice to work with a company who takes pride in their work. I was charged $1050 and the doors work like new. They even provide a 1 year warranty. I will definitely recommend them. Thanks!

Service provided was great. My doors are original to the house built in 1977 and parts are hard to find. Beacon cleaned the tracks, repositioned where needed and resolved the locking issues.

Very prompt, took care of my repair within a few hours of contacting them. Steve and Jonathan did a great job, and got my door fixed in less than an hour. The cost was reasonable, the quality of the work was excellent, and I will definitely refer them to others and use them again in the future.

Justin and Jonathan were terrific - diligent, professional, personable and committed to doing the best job possible. When my corroded glide rails presented a problem, they figured out a new way to solve the problem. The next week, Jonathan followed through in locating a new set of door handles that matched the broken existing ones and returned to install them.
My doors now slide so easily that I have had to retrain myself not to pull or push too vigorously or they will blast open across the track! I no longer have to worry about bothering my condo neighbors by opening my (previously) loudly scraping doors. And, with my new weather stripping, I no longer have to suffer through howling winds whistling through the doors.

I am more than satisfied with the work of Beacon Windows and highly recommend them.

I mistakenly thought it would be easy here in Florida to find a professional to make my double paned vinyl patio sliding door roll smoothly. Two weeks and a dozen phone calls later Beacon windows came to my rescue. I had heard so many different theories and disclaimers about this straightforward request, I frankly had low expectations for success. From Lizette, the owner, to Cory, the sales rep to the young men who did the job I have nothing but praise. They persevered by phone until we eventually had a diagnostic conversation and the repair/replacement/installation happened less than 48 hours later. I am so grateful to end this frustrating search and have a wonderful unit working as good as new for $300. Their work was so thorough (and guaranteed for 1 yr!) I doubt I will ever need to use them again, but I sincerely hope word gets around about this company. They represent the old fashioned family owned business that still has pride in workmanship and excellent customer service.

I had the folks from Beacon Windows repair my much-neglected and problematic sliding glass doors on my Indian Rocks Beach condo. Another condo owner in my building sent me an email telling me about the terrific experience she had with Beacon Windows, getting their sliders working properly again. Word of mouth advertising at its best! Anyway, that's how I heard of Beacon Windows. In my beach condo, the glass sliding doors are actually four interlocked doors that make up an entire wall of the living room, sliding open one-beside-another to create a huge doorway to the balcony and the Gulf. They were exceptionally difficult to slide open and took considerable effort, with back-and-forth wiggling, and a few grunting shoves to get them fully open. Additionally, there was a prominence in the lower track that pinched the doors against the upper track and restricted movement. That was the "Before" condition. Beacon Windows personnel removed all four sliding glass doors, cleaned out the lower and upper tracks (REALLY thoroughly), replaced all the doors' rollers with more beach-appropriate new stainless steel rollers, and fixed the prominence in the lower track. Fixing that more-than-annoying little rise in the lower track entailed pulling up that track, removing just enough of the underlayment to level it out, and then re-securing the lower track atop the now-level surface, followed by checking to make sure it properly solved the problem. I gave them carte blanche to repair what needed fixing with the doors, and they also replaced the broken lock with a new one, ensuring it aligned properly with the locking counterpart in the frame. What used to be an easy door/lock to defeat is now secure! They could have replaced my door handle if they were trying to pad their bill, but they said mine was fine and looked in good condition, so they kept it on the door in order to keep costs down. They also replaced the rusting screws at the top and bottom of the doors that keep the metal frames attached. They replaced ALL of the screws with stainless steel ones and didn't even charge for that service or the parts. They just said that to do the job right, the cheap existing screws should be replaced with stainless ones that will resist corrosion better and prevent salt, sand, and water from getting inside the frame. As I mentioned, they did this for free, which is huge, since if they just let the old, existing screws continue to deteriorate, eventually it would lead to the door itself corroding from the inside and forcing replacement of the whole thing. Beacon Windows apparently does sell new doors, but they're MUCH more expensive than maintaining the existing ones properly. I very much appreciated them taking this step to protect the existing doors from corrosion and saving me a bunch of money I don't want to spend. Finally, they cleaned up all materials and the work area, and washed all the glass inside and out, leaving it cleaner and clearer than I can remember seeing it before. From the bottom track to the top track, it all looks tidy, clean and fantastic. The doors slide from fully closed to fully open with two fingers pushing and there aren't any difficult spots anymore. I'm just very pleased and impressed with both the work they do and the customer interaction I had with Lizette. She explained everything clearly and was very attentive to my concerns. Upon being told that I had a rental tenant checking in 36 hours later, she even juggled Beacon Windows' schedule a bit to get my job done immediately, well before the tenant's check-in. No charge for the rush job either! Just as this service provider was recommended to me, I'm happy to recommend them to anyone else looking for fair and honest work of high quality. They don't do it dirt cheap, but they do a fantastic job and their conscientiously-performed work is going to save me thousands on door replacement and frustrated renters who can't get the doors to work properly. The price for the work done was more than fair, I thought, and I had no heartburn writing that check for $640. I got my money's worth and then some!
