The technician came when promised and knew immediately what the problem was. He had me up and running after changing the relay valve in the heat pump. The price was reasonable. I highly recommend ARS heating a d cooling.

We bought a home in late 2020, and our home has two units that sit together side by side under a shelter porch area. One unit for the second master addition from 2010 with a 2 ton unit, another 3.5 ton unit installed in 2016. The larger unit backs up to our dryer vent. These details are important so keep this in mind for later. During 2021 we had multiple issues with the unit and our home warranty company sent their people out that they contract with and they determined it was a coil with a freon leak. Thankfully the AC kicked the bucket in December. The repair cost was so costly that we decided to replace the unit because the HVAC warranty doesn't transfer when you buy a house. After several quotes and diagnosis from various AC companies we decided to go through Home Depot with the guarantee they provide. All of the other AC companies noted that it was problematic where the units were located other than ARS initially. Home Depot contracts with ARS, so we went over various options and picked a unit that met our needs based on their recommendations. Before contracting we asked if the unit should be moved away from the patio that has 3 walls and a dryer vent. They said it's not an issue unless code enforcement says other wise. So in February of 2022 they installed a brand new unit, and replaced the hvac inside the garage as well. 11k spent on this. As the weather warmed up we noticed the AC was struggling during the day. In April/ May it was 78/79 degrees inside. I prefer it on the cooler side and I made that known. They assured us the unit would run at a comfortable 72 during the day. We work from home, so this is important to us. In May we called ARS and they sent a technician out to our home to diagnosis the issue. The patio in which the units sit was putting off so much heat it was 120 degrees. He said it never should have been I stalled there. He proposed a plan that ARS (at their expense) would build something to direct the heat out. Months passed and we've heard nothing. It is so hot on that patio the ceiling fan warped now and a fan blade melted off and killed cacti placed back beside the units. Completely fried. I cannot use my dryer without my unit over heating and shutting off. I have piles of laundry because I have to sacrifice the comfort of my small children and pets over clean clothes. My mother is kind enough to let us do laundry over at her house. When you have a mortgage and an over priced 11k installation, you should NOT be chosing between 75-77 degrees at night inside or clean clothes. In July, my husband has spoken with multiple supervisors and the installation manager with promises made only to be ghosted. We've been promised a relocation at Ars expense. Your own technician declared it wasn't installed in the correct location. We have window units installed so I don't baked to death when I use the oven to cook meals. We were told the unit would be relocating. It is now August and we are still sitting here sweating like pigs. My electric bill is through the roof, my plants on that side of the house are cooked, a brand new ceiling fan is broken. And I have an brand new 11k unit that cannot perform properly. Without resolution or compensation. Even with the previous failing AC we did not experience any of the above.

Terrible! They would promise that someone would come for an estimate at 12:00, then 3:00. No one came. A tech who had identified the problem called after 3 hours since his pending "immediate" phone call, He apologized for the lack of response and said he was coming to my home to write the orders himself. He never came. I spend 2 days on the phone with this company. They don't return calls. They do not leave messages.

Our family was away from the area when my wifi thermostat sent me email messages with fault codes on my HVAC system. Shortly thereafter my system was not functioning and the temperature began to rise. I called ARS who had installed the system 6 years ago to report the issue and called a friend to let them into our house and observe. ARS scheduled a visit that day and arrived late in the afternoon. Their diagnosis was that the system needed a new blower motor and a new computer board in the air handler unit. Both of these parts are under warranty but I was told that the labor fee for this would be $975 and that I had to pay at that moment before they could order the parts and schedule a time to install. The price seemed high but being 2 states away and having no air condition I paid. I then spent the next three days calling to find out when the parts would be in so I knew when to return to Florida. A very frustrating issue that i have is that you can not call ARS direct. All of their published numbers go to an ARS/HomeDepot answering service who are very nice but all they do is pass you call request on to ARS who would never call back. Finally on the 6th day I received the call from ARS that the part was in and we coordinated their visit for 2 days later allowing me time to drive back to Florida. ARS arrived around 9:40am and replaced the parts which seemed to be a simple plug and play transfer which took about 2 hours. The system was back on-line. The tech gave me his cell number and told me if there were any problems to call him. The next morning I started to receive the same codes that started all of this. I called the tech and left a message. Called the tech 4 times over the next 6 hours and 1 additional time to the call center - no response. The tech called me around noon the next day and told me to turn the power off at the breaker box for both units, wait 10 minutes and turn the system back on. Did so and still got the codes. Called the tech again with no response. I gave up. I went to the Carrier web site and looked up dealers in this area. Interesting to note that ARS is not on that list. I selected a company that is Carrier lists as a distinguished awarded dealer, factory authorized and has NATE certified technicians. I chose Bay Area Air Conditioning and they were her the same day that I called and have worked on the system continuously. They even had to replace the motor that ARS put in. Their charge for that was around $150. Big difference in price, quality, response and you always get to talk with someone. I will never use ARS again and Bay Area has gained a new customer. I don’t think Home Depot is well served by their association with ARS.

Required three additional visits to complete installation and correct related issues. I have seen some inconsistencies with technician knowledge of the system. Was told the service manager would call us, but we never did. After several calls on our part, everything was resolved.

We've been customers of ARS since it was Leons A/C. Leons/ARS has installed and maintained our whole hose system for over three decades. All in all the service has been satisfactory with two exceptions. Nine years ago ARS sold to us and installed a completely new system, compressor, air handler, ductwork, gas heater, etc. New everything. The compressor was made by Goodman and we were told by our salesman that Goodman made the universal best product available. Better than Carrier, better than anything on the market. Now we are told by our technician that ARS no longer sells Goodman as it's just an average, piece of equipment made with cheap parts and is no better or worse than mid-grade compressors. I guess the answer is "don't believe the salesman." Second issue. When you purchase a maintenance contract, it includes two visits a year by an ARS technician who will test and inspect the entire a/c system. We have found an ARS tech who is absolutely fantastic. He takes as long as necessary to inspect and test every component and he explains all the processes. We ask for him by name and will accept no one else. Other techs have spent the minimum amount of time checking the a/c components and another hour attempting to sell us all manner of expensive goods and services. I don't know if ARS instructs their employees to hard sell and upsell products and services but it's annoying. I would guess that this practice is costing ARS customers Just sayin'

Float switch cost 14.00 max charged 140.00. Capicitor cost 7.00-24.00 charged 281.00. 2nd capacitor cost 7-24. Charged 240.00. This was on top of a "service plan" ripped off my elderly disabled mother. DO NOT HIRE!!!! I called corporate relations and they told me it was a done deal after paper work is signed. So price gouging and elderly abuse is there mission statement at ARS.

ARS installed an AC unit in our home as a contractor for Home Depot to replace our old, broken unit. They never applied for a permit with the city and no inspection was done! The installer was rushed and left a mess in our house. The unit never cooled our home well (it took hours to cool the house by two degrees) and was expensive to run. We had technicians out on multiple occasions but when they were never able to resolve the issue we used Home Depot’s money back guarantee to return the unit. Will never use ARS again, and very disappointed that Home Depot uses them as a contractor.

Fine. I've used them for years. I pay I think $120 for twice a year maintenance. They're supposed to call when they're on their way, and it depends on who the serviceman is. They tend to forget that and they just show up. They'll give you like an 8 'till noon or a noon 'till 4 time frame for them to come out and they'll call you before they come. And if you pick one you expect hem to be here sometime in that time frame and that's when a lot of times they don't show. They show up later.

Bought 2016 but they installed a 2015 unit and altered the date on the sticker by changing the 5 to a 6 to pass it off as a 2016 unit shady. Have had it repaired 9 times within a year. I cant trust this unit and want a new one because this one is obviously defective. .but they have refused to replace it. This has been nothing but trouble dont use this company

Horribly ongoing, a 3-4 day job is going into its second month now. Cant get mgnt to return calls. work is very sloppy and unprofessional, hazardous even. NO CLEAN UP. techs dont seem to be certified or even trained properly. Techs have done as much damage to the house as repairs. Very frustrating and ongoing process. NO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! THEY LIE FROM THE START, YOU JUST FIND OUT LATER ON!!!

I have been dealing with them for three years, and I am ready to have a fistfight with them! They damaged my home, I have a hole in my ceiling, they stretched out my carpet so badly and they told me it cannot be fixed; the flooring upstairs and downstairs has to be replaced because of how badly they damaged my flooring. They caused a flooding because they did not flush out the air conditioning unit when they installed it. They did not want to use a slab to keep my air conditioner from sinking, and were made when I insisted that they use the slab as they paid for it. They also wired the air conditioner wrong, which could have burned down my home.

They asked me to make an appointment to have the county to come out and sign off on the work; I told them I refused to have the county sign off on the job until they fix the damage they caused. I got estimates from three or four companies for the provider to call and fix the thousands of dollars of damage to my floors. I even chose the lowest estimate.

I put in a phone call to a higher up in the office and to this day I have not heard from him whatsoever, so I got mad and finally called corporate and they are filing an insurance claim, so now I have to deal with an insurance company. If they try to rip me off, my attorney will stick them so far in the ground that I guarantee you it will cost them more money then what I am claiming for. If they want to keep playing games with me, I'm going to have the government come in and go through their files and there may not even be a company anymore!

They don't answer your calls, they are rude to you on the phone, they don't return phone calls, and they treat you like a piece of trash. They sit in their truck for almost an hour and eat breakfast, that was on my time.

Supposedly one of the workers did not speak English, but he spoke very good English as I overheard him cursing about the work and how he doesn't care about the job, and he was calling me names (curse words) as well.I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy!

The only person that cared was named Ismar; he used to even text to check on my children. I believe he was fired for caring about what was happening.

I will never use them again. Each year we tried to call them to come back out to service it. Either they would not show up for the appointment or something happened and we would always call somebody else. The people who actually put the unit in were good. The people who put the unit in are different than the techs who come out to check the unit. All the parts on my air conditioning unit have a 10-year warranty. The last time they came out they were telling me things needed to be replaced. By the time they got done I might as well have bought myself a brand new unit. It would have cost $6,000 or $7,000 and nothing was wrong with it. We had no issues with it -- nothing. So I found another company. I called ARS and yelled at them. Actually what they sent out was not a service tech, it was a salesman. The quality of the unit is fine and the date they set to put it in, they put it in. They did a good job on the installation and cleaned up. They are an average price.

Horrible service, paid $6000+ for a new unit and they promised us a new intake screen to replace the old one, 2 years of nagging them about the screen with nothing but "its custom order, should be here soon" still nothing. I gave them tons of chances to fix this, just get empty promises. Drip Pan overflows every year in august and they still cant fix this issue either. Drip pan leaks and has ruined our ceiling. The tune up service seemed promising and good on the ad shown in Angies list, but the service was poor. The technician just checked all the taps in the home and drained water heater by connecting a pipe, there was no attempt made to remove sediment. Technician kept saying that there is not much that would be done for 49$ , which was surprising that the actual value was much more. The service and professionalism was unsatisfactory. The following services mentioned in the ad were not made at all. DrainRight® Drain Maintainer treatment on all in-home drains Drain tank & remove sediment (if practical) Test temperature & pressure relief valve / system ? Inspect water lines & drain valve ? Remove and check anode rod condition ? Includes additional tune-up processes based on water heater type.
