I see many people mentioning Tom Little. He is fantastic and this review is not a reflection on him or his work. I have had an AquaCal pool heater for seven years. It needed repairs four out of the seven years. It is $235 just for them to come to your home and diagnose the problem. By the time they get the parts and install them, you do not need to use the heater anymore. I received a call back for service and was told that someone would call me to schedule. I am waiting a full week and have not heard from the company. I cannot afford to pay for repairs every year therefore, I am throwing the AquaCal away and getting a Hayward. All of my family and friends have Hayward heaters for years and none of them have had any problems.

Representative, Juan Montoya came to our home to diagnose and to fix our AquCal pool heater. Juan was very friendly and professional. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. The job was completed within a very short time and the heater is good as new! I highly recommend AquCal. Excellent customer service as well when I called to explain the situation and to request service. Maria was so professional, understanding and immediately booked the service appointment. Great job from a great company.

Swimmingly! Tom Little is a veritable treasure! He had the problem with the pool heater diagnosed within about ten minutes & fixed within about twenty! Moreover he is very personable & possesses an engaging & funny personality. Unfortunately it’s rare anymore to have his level of both competency & proficiency in a service call. I give him five stars here only because 10 stars is not an option!

Tom Little - fantastic experience! Was here early, diagnosed the problem, had it fixed and on his way in less than an hour! He was patient with my nosiness and explained what he was doing and why! I ran my own business for many years and understand how hard it can be to get and keep high quality folks like Tom. Do all you can to keep him happy!

We are very pleased with the service call. Our service tech was Rigo P. in Plantation Fl. He was prompt and very nice to talk to. He diagnosed the issue quickly and made the appropriate repair. He double-checked everything before leaving. Over-all it was a good experience. We would recommend this service.

The technician Jeff C. was great! He called and let me know his ETA. He arrived promptly. He explained everything he did and had the needed part in his truck. Within 15 minutes, he had diagnosed the issue, replaced the part and had run through all the testing of the replaced part. He doubled checked the water temperature coming out of the pool and the returning heated water to verify it was working correctly. He was pleasant and conscientious. I would recommend Aquacal for pool heater issues and technician Jeff C. as a premier service representative for Aquacal.

Outstanding service, promptness and professionalism.

Initially I believed I would get the best deal from an independent repair company. I had one come to give me a estimate. It was then that I was told I needed a compressor for the heat pump. Their estimate was $1800 to replace just the compressor, other parts would be extra if they found additional problems.. I called one additional repair company who said to make sure the repair company was licensed in Charlotte county and obtained the permit for this work. The third company wanted about $2000 for the compressor installed. I found the compressor on line for $800 + and thought the install prices I was quoted too high.
I obtained AquaCal's web address and sent an email from their web page. I received a reply from Barry Brown, technical support for Aquacal/Autopilot.. He quoted me the list price for the compressor of $1517.. But I spoke with him and found the compressor was probably covered under an existing warranty.. He quoted a price compressor install no charge for the part approximately $900. I told Barry to install the part. He said he would have a service tech call me to set up an appointment to see that I needed the compressor. On Saturday Josh called to say he was at the house & found the compressor had to be replaced. But it would not be a warranty replacement as the heat pump was a scratch & dent model not covered by warranty. Since he was not the install tech for the area and the area tech was on vacation, and the compressor would have to be ordered & shipped to the installer & Monday was a holiday i probably wouldn't get it replaced until the end of the week. The cost would be about $1900. Monday the install tech called and set up an appointment for the next day, Tuesday. He had the compressor and all associated parts they routinely replace at the same time.. The install took about 2 hours. The heat pump compressor installed with no other parts cost approximately $800 compressor price online + $800 installation and 5 lbs R22 compressor fluid @$10 /lb.. AquaCal charged me $1600 with additional parts. I would recommend anyone to give aquacal a try, their service was prompt, the price was a pleasant surprise, and the heat pump works great. Mind you this was "season" here in FL.
