"The work that was estimated and approved was all completed. I apologize that for reasons unknown, you had a negative experience. Our customer care representatives are always available in case there are specific issues with technicians, scheduling, or any other such problem. This particular account is closed, but also under our one-year warranty, so please call if you need further assistance."
I was told the trapping would be $389 and basically needed to do about $4,000 worth of work to keep them out. That aside, they promised for two weeks they would trap and come out every 1-2 days. for the first week, I had to be the one contacting and reminding them to come empty the traps. They never called to check what was going on with the traps, I had to continuously be the one hounding them.
"Allstar was hired in August 2014 to remove armadillos. Our technicians visited the home every couple of days through September, successfully trapping and removing/relocating armadillos on 8/26/2014, 9/10/2014, and 9/22/2014. Since then Allstar technicians provide monthly inspections and deterrent applications. Allstar is also available for free trapping as needed under this service. Allstar has noted that no new activity has come up and has not received a request for additional trapping. Our most recent visit was on May 26, 2015 where the inspection resulted in no current activity. The client remains on our monthly route and will receive another visit toward the end of June. If additional trapping is needed, we have a 24/7 emergency line the the client can call to request trapping. This would be included in the service."
"We do apologize that your experience with your technician were not up to standard. We did indeed set valves to allow bats to leave the property and force them into relocation. With the legal limitations on methods to exclude bats from a home, it sometimes can take multiple visits and multiple attempts to successfully close a job down. However, we do provide a warranty on the work that is completed, so that if more visits would be necessary, there would be no additional charge."
"Allstar would like to thank you for the kind words, and we will most certainly relay this information to the technician that helped you. Luckily we have a wonderful network of field technicians and office staff that make themselves available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Hopefully you never need animal removal service again, but we would always be glad to help."
Awful. One individual came out to set a trap and said they'd be back in a couple of days. They never showed back up. My wife's calls to the office went unreturned. I eventually got a voicemail from Connor, whom I presume to be the manager. He acknowledged that something had gone wrong but I've since called him several times and have received no return call. I called the national number and, while polite, the individual on the phone was not empowered to do anything other than send a message to our local animal specialist. I told him I was having trouble and needed to speak to someone in management and he was not able to direct my message to anyone in particular. I never received a phone call back.
The $389 seemed very high in the first place but we figured it was worth it if the company would be coming out on a regular basis, resetting traps and really trying to catch the moles. That didn't happen so, in my mind, the $389 was a total waste of money. We are disputing the charge through American Express.
We also had to sign a contract that provided six months worth of spraying to kills grubs, which is apparently what the moles are after. To be fair, we do believe that our yard has been sprayed twice. We plane on continuing to pay for this service ($60/month) through the end of the contract, assuming we don't see any lapses consistent with what I described above.
I don't write these types of reviews lightly as I like to give organizations a chance to respond and make a situation right. Unfortunately, these guys have failed in that respect and Angie's list members deserve to know the truth.
"For this job we charged $289 for animal trapping (a discounted price) and $389 for exclusion of entry points for a total of $678. Unfortunately, when a home has a wildlife intrusion, whether it rats or otherwise, they are more at risk for a return problem. The reason for this is because animals will leave pheromones and other scents that will attract outsiders. Rodent colonies in particular are driven mostly by scents. When a nearby colony increases in size to a point where they need to split and find a new location to live, your home will be most appealing to them since it already has these scents, pheromones, trails in the attic, tunnels in insulation, etc. So we are not at all surprised when a former rat trapping client calls back with the same issue some months later. For this we and all other pest/animal removal companies offer a preventative monthly service to guarantee that there will be no future activity. Under this monthly service we offer baits, deterrents, traps, and any other means to assure that new animals do not return. In this instance, that service was declined. If that service is declined, there is no coverage for the new problem that developed some months later. We set up a two week trapping session (which, as was stated in the complaint, was extended FREE of charge), closed entry points, and closed the file. The new infestation could have been handled for a similar price, but that was also declined. Allstar is more than happy to provide the client with additional service as long as it is adequately compensated for completed work."
Almost a week ago, one of our neighbors and his 2 large dogs had an encounter with a large coyote that was not intimidated. It showed aggressive behavior. There have also been a lot of cats missing, dead bird carcasses, etc indicating the coyote was still around and potentially stuck on our island. This morning, my dog stuck her nose in a drainage grate and started sniffing around. My husband looked in the grate and saw a large coyote head. The drainage grate goes out to the bay. The opening is large enough for the animal to get in but he couldn't get out. The neighborhood agreed we needed to hire a trapper. I saw Allstar on angieslist. Within probably 30 min of call, Chris showed up. I showed him where the coyote was and he worked at getting it until he was able to get a good shot. Legally, the only way to dispose of a coyote is by putting it down. Its unfortunate but based on the aggression we were seeing, we were very concerned for our children and pets. Not to mention, if he couldn't get out, he would have eventually drowned. Chris was a total professional and took 1 clean shot. Disposed of the animal of quickly.
I would definitely call Allstar again if I needed any type of animal removal.
"Thank you so much for the kind words and positive review. It is always unfortunate when an animal must be put down. From a biological standpoint though, coyotes are considered a nuisance and invasive species. With no natural predators, we expect them to continue to increase in numbers an become more and more of a problem year after year. We are glad that the technician was able to get out there quickly and save the day. While all our jobs are important, emergency calls such as this are handled as a priority."
