David and his crew(James and Peter) did a great job restoring our marble kitchen counter tops to better than new condition. David is a true "Professional" and is a pleasure to work with. From estimate to completion, he and his crew were amazing. They spent about an hour just prepping the area(covering appliances and floors with plastic sheeting) to avoid damage and make for an easy clean up. David is a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work. Thank you David and crew.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], thank you for allowing us to restore your countertops. You and your wife have a beautiful home and it was a joy to work with you. I was very excited to be able to get a Better Than Factory polish on those tops. Please let us know when we can help you again in the future, we look forward to it. We had spoken to many plumbers, granite dealers, etc. and NO ONE would undertake this task. David came to examine the job, decided he could do it, then undertook the job with expertise and a positive outlook. It required some engineering and imagination and he completed the task without having to cut the granite. He restored all plumbing and new garbage disposal so that the plumbing was better than before he came. The also restored our marble bathroom counter which was marred with stains. Spectacular workmanship!

It did not go well. We had received a quote from 1800Marbleguy for refinishing our Sausalito tile and a red flag went off when they requested 50% payment at time of quote. I did not call them back but the company owner called me a couple of times attempting to receive the business. Because I believe honesty is the best policy, I voiced my concerns about the payment request and he was very understanding and we had an intelligent conversation. I ended up agreeing to the work without negotiating the price down under one condition, that they would provide the dozen or two tiles, which was not part of the original quote. It was stated by the owner at that time that providing the Sausalito tiles would be no big deal because they are inexpensive. They wanted to start that coming Monday and I called him a number of times voicing my concerns about not having a contract or modified quote signed, he assured me there was no issue. The workers showed up on time and they worked for 3 days, my husband was home most of the time and the workers even tried to solicit the business directly by asking my husband to fire the company and contract with them directly for a fraction of the price. This was the 3rd red flag. When the work was supposedly done, the foreman requested $600 more than the amount that was originally quoted. My husband called me because I had been the one that coordinated the work and I ultimately got on the phone with the owner. I explained that I had assumed the tiles were included in the $4300, which was my deciding factor on choosing them for the work. I do believe that there may have been a miscommunication which was my concern with not having a contract signed. The owner ultimately agreed to take the $4300 check for the work, not sure he really had much of a choice. Over and above all the red flags, the item that is the most disappointing was the quality of the work. I was so busy arguing about the price of the work that I did not inspect the work that had been done. To name a few of the many issues the crew sealed over shoe scuff markers, many pieces of my hair and placed the tiles in the wrong places based on color matching. $4300 is a lot of money for 3 days of work for 3 people and I feel as though I was ripped off.

We have worked with David before as he sealed our tumbled marble stairwell a few years ago. We were pleased then and so we knew he was the man to call when we asked for help with our very poorly installed travertine tile flooring. We have numerous cracks and, as travertine will do, several holes where the fill had come out. He was very honest about what could and could not be done, responsive to questions and put a lot of time and effort in to making our floors look so much better. I was so happy with the final results and David was very helpful in trying to alieve my concerns. We will definitely use his service again and would not hesitate to recommend him.

First called Cutting Edge who had installed the granite countertops in the kitchen to see if they could polish them. Cutting Edge didn't call back after a week so I found Exceptional Granite on Angie's List. I called them and was referred to 1800marbleguy. I spoke to David (the marble guy) and he scheduled an appointment for the next day.

I previously had two companies come out to do estimates. One company said the floors were too damaged, the next company gave an estimate but couldn't do it for two weeks, so I called Dave. I got such a good feeling about him immediately I went with my gut instinct and hired him over the phone. He was out two days later. The floors are great. My floors were damaged from awful tile. I knew going in they wouldn't be perfect but they are great. They are clean and shiny. Dave and his two guy crew were very professional. They were done with my two bedrooms in a day. He sent me pics as soon as he was done. I was nervous about doing the floors knowing they were damaged, not sure if I should spend the money on other flooring,  but I am really glad I did this. I just wish the rest of the house wasn't so damaged or I wouldn't hesitate to have them done. Great experience with this vendor.

After researching multiple Terrazzo floor restoration companies in the Tampa Bay Area, was contacted by another business owner who highly recommended David and his team for the project to restore two bedrooms which were covered in carpeting and recently discovered as having old Florida Terrazzo flooring. After reading the informative company website and positive reviews, I called The 800 number expecting to have to be called back. David answered the phone directly, listened to my request, offered several solutions, and even advised the work could be done the next day. I really appreciated the courteous and professional suggestions and knowledge David displayed both over the phone, and directly in person the following day. A courtesy call was made prior to arrival. Arrived on time and will full crew. David and Crew were courteous, respectful of my flooring when moving equipment in and out of the home, and did exactly what was discussed and agreed upon. Highly recommend this business.

The job took quite a while as 12 coats of finish were applied. The workers were polite and blocked off the rest of our living area so there was no dust and they cleaned up afterwards.

After checking around for estimates, we called Dave to make an appointment. He scheduled our service within the week. The night before our service date, he called to confirm the appointment and the arrival time of his team. Right on time, a team of two experts arrived at the house. Handled the repair process efficiently. Fixed the counter so it is now smooth all the way down without any damage to the rest of the counter or cabinets just like Dave promised. My husband was home to handle the service call and he sincerely appreciated their workmanship and professionalism. When I got home from work, there was nothing to clean up. The counter looked beautiful. Dave called this evening to follow-up and make sure that we were 100% satisfied!! It's a rare company that continues to care about its customers' satisfaction even after they've been paid. We would definitely recommend them and will use them again for any future projects.

"I guess “WOW” can go both ways, what a nice review. I know you were really worried about how things were going to turn out with making that repair on your granite counter top and I’m glad we were able to surpass both you and your husband’s expectations. Our technicians try really, really hard and your nice comments meant a lot to them. Especially the part about leaving the house so clean when they were done working. As to the part about “communicating with you before and after the work was done”, we feel communication is priceless and we do our best to keep everyone on the same page – our clients, the techs, our office, everyone. As you've figured out punctuality is also important to us. We too hate it when the Cable Company says, “We’ll be there some Thursday in February, between the time you wake up and the time you go to bed”. We know schedules are important to our clients and we try hard to keep them. Thanks again for your kind words and I glad you’re so happy with everything. Please let us know when you're ready to have the counter tops sealed and polished. Warmest regards, Marbleguy"

Received a prompt and courteous call shortly after request to set up an appointment. Work was scheduled within a week of original inquiry. Workers were prompt, courteous, professional; explained in detail what the job entailed as well as instructions as to proper care of the marble and granite. Was very pleased with the end product.

"Customer, I’m glad the Techs were able to take care of everything for you and that you were so happy with not just the work they did but that they were so professional as well, they/we try really hard. Please let us know when you’re ready to have the tops sealed, polished and protected with our StainProof warranty. Thank you again for you kind words and for taking the time to give us such a nice review. Warmest regards, Marbleguy"

The floor was repaired as agreed. The matching of the terrazzo color was well done in the big transit areas, but the bedrooms repairs were done without as much detail (in the living room, the contractor matched bits of granite in the repairs to better match the terrazzo, but in the bedrooms, the contractor only repaired the terrazzo without chips. The color matching was pretty close. Overall we were happy with the service for the price. The work was reasonably priced in comparison to other contractors. I dealt with David Gelinas who was always polite, very professional and maintained appointments as promised. The estimate of three days was short by two days. The work took 5 days instead of the three estaimated.

"I’m sorry that the job did take longer than we had planned; I hope it wasn't too much of an imposition. With the amount of holes and the amount of staining we found in the floor once the carpets were removed we just didn't want to rush anything. I’m glad that in the end you were happy with what our Techs were able to do with restoring the floors. Also, thank you for commenting on the level of professionalism, that means a lot. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Warmest regards, Marbleguy"

"Customer, What, another happy customer?! In all seriousness, I’m glad you’re so happy, I know you were really stressing about getting everything done while you were here in town. Considering we normally run at about a 2 to 4 week lead time, it was very fortunate that we were able to put everything together so quickly for you. And the floor did come out nice didn't it? When you can take a 50+ year old floor and make it look like that; we love what we do. Thanks again for your kind words and taking the time to send us such a nice review. And the guys really enjoyed working with you. Thank you again. Warmest regards, Marbleguy"

Overall the estimate of the work to be performed was accurate. The estimate was for 2 - 3 days of work, it took three days. I was repeatedly told that not all the staining would be lifted, but they would do the best they could. I had already performed some stain removal myself, so was hopeful they would achieve better results than I had. I was wrong; I can tell the areas I treated for stains, versus the areas they worked. The center of my floors do look fantastic and certainly shine.

We all know the sign of an exceptional job well done is not in the largest area you can see, but in the corners and hard to reach places. I am still cleaning up much of the mess left behind, but I can tell you, there were areas along the edges and in the corners where holes were not patched and the surface was not as smooth as the center of the floors. Also, I did not expect to have to get down on my hands and knees and scrub the floors. I am still cleaning the dust from the walls and surfaces, removing scratches to the walls where they were not protected, and just yesterday I found the area where they dumped the sludge behind my bushes. I should have expected this, especially since they clogged the kitchen sink one day disposing of sludge. Needless to say I was not thrilled to find this mess.

To be fair, I do not recall telling them not to cover the lower portion of the wall to protect hem. I do recall that I told them I had not painted because I expected the baseboards to get dinged and the walls to get dusty. However, I did not expect to see machine markings 12and quot; from the floor.

So now I have to go through and remove the sealant and try to remove the stains. If I have good luck with stain removal on my own, I will call a contractor to come re-polish the floors.

"Customer Thank you for taking the time to post a review, I really do appreciate it. Thank you also for the ratings of: ProfessionalismA Punctuality A Responsiveness A Quality B Price C Considering the very heavy level of staining that you had in your floors and that you had chosen the lesser expensive option of our Diamond Light Service rather than our Gold Standard - Terrazzo Full Diamond Restoration, I can see possibly why not all of the stains came out. In all fairness as I tell everyone, stains in a terrazzo floor are just like a stain in your favorite shirt. You do what you’re supposed to do; some times the stains come out and sometimes they don’t. Even if we did start with the much more aggressive FireBall diamonds its possible that the stains wouldn’t have been much better. You/We just have no idea how deep the stains go. Even if we had done our Stain Treatment we can’t say for certain what the results will be. As for any thing that the Techs might have missed with regards to cleaning up after the job I’m very sorry about that. I wish you would have called and let me know and I would have come personally to take care of anything at all. As you yourself noted, you did give us an “A” for Professionalism and an “A” for Responsiveness. If you do try anything yourself with the floor I hope you’re successful with it but please be very careful. You can do a great deal of damage to the floor with the wrong chemicals and most importantly you could seriously harm yourself. If you need any advice at all with what to use or not to use please call me and I will gladly help you out any way I can Warmest regards, Marbleguy"

I emailed David Gelinas, the owner, to get some information about the repair process and cost. This worked out really well. The communication from him was excellent, which made it easy to decide that I wanted him to come to my house to do the job. We emailed back and forth a few times, with me sending a few photos of the chip, and he was eventually able to accurately give me estimates for two different options of how to fill in the chipped area: one price to use a single color of material, and another price (50% more) to use a combination of colors that would blend in better with the surrounding granite's appearance. I chose the second option, since the chip is in a very obvious location in the kitchen. He arrived on time (at a specific scheduled time), was very presentable, clean, polite, articulate, and conversational. He didn't mind that I watched him work. He didn't make a mess. The job took under two hours, and the result is practically invisible. The repair is only detectable at an angle where the light reflects off the surrounding shiny granite surface, since the repair material is not as reflective as granite.
