They came out the same day I called, and the service person (Lou) tested the coolant levels.  Then he checked the air handlers.  He said we needed new handlers, that the old ones had rusted out and had leaked the coolant.  He gave us a choice of Carrier, for more money with a 5 year warrantee, or an "off-brand" that cost less and came with a 10 year warrantee.  It was nice that they gave us a choice.  They came a few days later (they had to order the handlers, and he had topped off the coolant so our A/C would work through the weekend) and did the work in one day.  They were clean, professional, and respectful.  They did not charge me for the first (diagnostic) appointment (or the topping of the coolant levels), nor did they charge for checking that all the ducts were working properly - it was all inclusive, which I appreciated.  I've used CT Air Designs and CT Lilly Plumbing (same company) before and have found them to have integrity and be fair, and their phone reps are pleasant and helpful.  I'd definitely recommend them.
