Massey Services of St Augustine

After a couple of months we noticed weeds popping up and some brief yellowing. Overtime they would come, they come one month for lawn and next month for tree/shrubs, I would say I am still seeing weeds and what about this yellowing. After about 6 months, I grew extremely concerned about the yellowing becoming a stronger yellow along the driveway and a patch in the backyard. The guy that you talk to on the phone was like it will be taken care of. The guy that comes out was like I just put down chemical. So I stood next to his truck and walked him to ever spot I had and said what about this, is this my fault, not watering or is it bugs, oh no just needed some fertilizer. After 8 months, more areas turning yellow, grass not popping at all after winter time, called again. We will take care of it, your an important customer. Guy came out and said I heard you had complaints. So right there I knew something was not getting communicated, I went around showed all the issues, pointed to trees that looked half dead, pointed to shrubs that looked it still had fungus, I said 30 days to fix or I am cancelling. Oh well we will put all this chemical on and everything should be fixed. Needless to say no longer a customer. My biggest complaint is I should not have to call to address issues, coming out once a month they should see the issues.

It has been really good. I had another company do a sorry job on my lawn and ever since Massey took over they have been doing a super job. Infact i called a young man that came and talked to me about it and now my grass is doing really good. They put a chemical that kills the weeds but they also put a chemical that makes the grass really green. The also take care of the flowers and small trees. They have a regular schedule. They do what they say unlike the preceding company. Their price is reasonable. They are top-notch. They come quickly. When i called them they came the next day.

Called on a Thursday for a lawn service estimate and was told someone would be here between sunrise and 11:00 a.m. No one showed up so I called at 11:05 a.m., and the gentleman who took my initial phone (James) call answered and said he was out of town (wonderful thanks for telling me that!) and someone else by the name of Ben was supposed to show up. He said he'd have Ben call me. Bell calls 20 minutes later and says and quot;I heard you were interested in lawn care service. I can show up around 1 p.m.,and quot; I told Ben I've been waiting all morning and not to worry about coming and he then suggested Monday, and I said I would talk to James. I will be telling James I'm not interested. I work in a business with customer service and I totally understand that we all get busy but Ben made it seem like I was inconveniencing him, and then he wants me to wait another 2 hours. That's not how I do business, especially for a service where the people will be treating my house without me here. How am I to know they are actually treating my house when I'm not away if they can't even make the effort to do the estimate with a 3 hour window to come by? Massey is awesome for termite and they may have been good for lawn but this left a bad taste in my mouth. I will take my lawn care needs elsewhere.

Issue 2- I had to call to remind them twice that the sod had not been installed. Further, the salesman recommended service wait for sod to be installed, but because it was 6 weeks before that was done I' glad that was not the case. Issue 3- Massey's service includes aeration, one of the reasons.i selected them. My service history indicated that service had been performed, but the date they indicated it had, I was home the entire day, saw no one and had no paperwork to indicate anyone had perform the service, To Massey's credit, they did come out and perform the service Issue 4 - It's embarrassing I pay for this service; I have weeds I've never had before and some large enough that critters are eating them. I've called Massey (again, they are responsive) on twice since my initial service in October (in addition to the monthly visit).They spot treat, but more weeds pop up. My next service is not until the end of March, well into the growing season. Not optimistic.

They are excellent and reasonable. I've been using them for more than 3-4 years. They got some good people doing good work. They charge accordingly. I probably have one of the best looking lawns in our town. She does it thoroughly. She fertilizes with the proper treatment. The price is pretty much the same every month. You don;t have to sign a contract so you can quit anytime you want.

They have done a good job of preventing bugs from coming into the house. Overall I would say they are doing a good job. When I called because of increased bugs because of all the rain. I got an explanation as to why and they took care of it.

The yard looks pretty good. I have had much problems with it so far.

The overall experience is good. The price and quality are good. They are responsive, punctual, and professional. I would use this provider again.

We had a bad experience with a Massey office staff member over a year or so ago, in fact, because of that bad experience, we joined Angies List.. Because Massey listened to our problem and responded in such a professional way, we contracted them to to more than our pest service, they now do our lawn and irrigation too.

The initial issue was a minor one with the technicians - we wanted them to contact us before they arrived and walked around our house and property and they weren't doing that. No one wants to be surprised in their back yard by a stranger, right? The bigger problem we had was at the local office. A staff member there had left a phone message on our machine so rude that when other people heard it, jaws dropped. Now in all honesty, there had been a mix-up with our bill but when we discovered that we'd missed a payment, we remedied it right away. Now we just don't deal with that office anymore. When we need service, we go to the Contact Us section of their website and the response is immediate (and most appreciated.)
