Horrible. He did not pull a permit (my bad for not making sure he did) and his workers (he was never on-site for the work) installed the railing balusters with 5-1/4" spacing in between, when code is 4" (my bad for not noticing this before I paid him; my condo HOA board was kind enough to tell me weeks afterwards). Both before he did the work and after, he was incredibly difficult to get a hold of; now I regret that he did call me back to get the work. After leaving him several unanswered messages about the issue a week before a holiday weekend, including the last message where I told him I was going to leave a negative review on Angie's List, et al, he finally called me back. He was irate that I would bother him while he was out of town on vacation (it was a Tuesday, 6 days before the holiday), refused to talk to me about the issue, and said he would call me back the following Tuesday when he was back in the office. Oh, he also said he didn't care about my leaving him a bad review on Angie's List, and said that Angie's List is for "people like you". Surprisingly, he never called me back. I hired another contractor to replace/add railing balusters so that they would be code compliant. Do yourself a favor, even if you have to pay a bit more and wait a few more weeks, hire a reputable and decent contractor, not Don Baker Construction a/k/a GuttersPlus in St. Augustine.
