Amazing work

I contracted with Ancient City to build a screen porch addition and replace my existing shingle roof with metal. I wanted a stick-built structure cut into the existing roof as opposed to just adding a box on the back. The finished result was just what I wanted. Everyone who worked on the house was very professional and courteous. Everything was permitted as required and passed inspections first time every time. They subbed out the roof as I expected but I wanted to have the same general contractor on both parts of the job since the porch roof would be integrated into the existing roof. Roofing crew also did a great job. I would definitely hire Ancient City again.

From initial consultation to the finishing touches on our project everything was outstanding. Ancient City coordinated all of the contractors and kept us in the loop about scheduling and if any adjustments need to be made. Overall top notch experience with professionals who craft projects with attention to detail. They were able to bring to our idea to life. The pergola looks awesome and has transformed our backyard!

Professional work. Difficult job. Timely response and great communication.

Call him on May 15th,  2015.  And still has not called me back.

First the gradient of the soil was done without a slant so water could flow to the street, which had to be corrected, then when the cement truck came he wasn't ready for it, the truck had to wait, they didn't add enough water to the cement so it dried too fast for the coquina to be mixed correctly and to top it all off he only used one trowel which didn't give a smooth finish and none of his 2 assistants knew how to work the cement. My husband had help mixing the coquina shells otherwise they would have waited too long. We later found out that the way to get a smooth finish was by using a bull float. He admitted later on he should have. The slabs dried out with marks of the trowel, uneven corners and most of the coquina shells have blown off with time. He accepted a reduced payment for the job, but it was very clear that he didn't know how to do it correctly and had assistants had limited notion, I certainly wouldn't want him to work on my house again or do any construction work.
